Tampa Fire on 15151 uses like 3 different dispatchers all on that same TG. They each pop in suddenly and share the channel. One unit, says Engine 5, gets replied to by one dispatcher. Very mext transmission it's Rescue 16 being replied to by a different dispatcher. You hear a call dispatched, then another call right after that dispatched by a different dispatcher. This is very odd. How does each dispatcher know when to respond to what unit and when to dispatch new calls?

It's been that way for years. They all sit near one another in a pod and all of the consoles have access to all of the radio channels. Depending on staffing, they don't have anyone dedicated to the dispatch channel. Whoever is not busy on a 911 or admin call, dispatches or replies on the radio. Sometimes the call-taker will mute themselves with a 911 caller and dispatch the apparatus themselves mid-call.

I am receiving TFR on P25 dispatch just fine, but don't get any of the new Tac channels on P25. Are they still using the old system on the Tacs. I have heard 2 structure fires but nothing after the first dispatch.

Thanks Ed

TFR isn't fully on the P25 system. EDACS should still be monitored. Off and on multicasting for weeks and months has been the M.O. for just about every agency transitioning.

I’m hearing HCFR on P25…at least the admin channel. They got jokes…whoever was talking said “I’m talking analog on digital and I am talking in perfect Spanish and the new system is translating it into English.”

So, is this just the admin or are they all on P25 now? If so…anyone got the TG numbers?

The HCFR tac channels are not used that often and are mainly used when there are large structure fires.
They were telling everyone to go to tac 4 last night for a structure fire but I heard no traffic on tac 4 out here on the west system so I figured I'd check

Haven't listened in a while. Can't hear any HCSO D* on analog anymore on East while monitoring today. Just occasional HCFR. Have SO fully transitioned?

I have the TG numbers for HCFR but they are using them yet. Once they become operational I’ll submit them.
