I just moved to Tampa from Texas where I was the feed provider for a large city PD. I wanted to ask all of you locals for suggestions on what agency/system/TG's you would like to see on a new feed here. I was leaning towards HCSO or Tampa PD. I have 2 SDS100's and a box of various SDRs. I would be willing to provide at least 1 feed for now maybe a second later. Im located in Carrollwood and pickup the Hillsborough P25 system very well. Thanks

I would prefer you don't put a feed online.... don't want to give them any excuse to encrypt.

There is a HOLD button located on the bottom left you can use to pause the scan until you are finished listening to a specific talk group. There is also a "nuisance" LOCK button on the bottom right. Hope this helps. BTW, TPD is full time on P25.

On the HOLD button, it only stays on hold for 5 minutes. Can you change that to a setting that will hold until you put it back in scan? I tried to mess around with the programming and putting the info TG’s on different knobs but that didn’t work. Probably don‘t have something right in the programming…but if I could get that HOLD button to permanent instead of 5 minutes only that would be more efficient.

Go to D-8 under central setting and then TGID hold setting. Mine is set for 40 minutes but you can set TGID Hold for any amount you might need.

There may be a setting in the sub menu to change the hold time. Have you asked that question on the Unication forum? There are a lot of very smart guys there! If you don't have any luck your next option would be to call Unication or who ever you bought the radio from. In my case it was Rays Pagers. GREAT GUY. I had to call him myself, and he spent almost an hour helping me troubleshoot a problem. Now my G4 is perfect.

I notice something interesting with the Unication radio/pager…I can only pick up Tampa PD from my location (Sun City Center) at night. Is this simply because the radio signals are stronger at night or is there another reason for this?

Sun City Center is on the fringe of the West Site. Do you pick up other agencies like TTPD, TTFD, TPA (Tampa International) PD, etc?

I get everything on the East site. I do pick up TT and TPA at night like I do with TPD.
