Anyone know what Talkgroup is 03-117 on EDACS? I was randomly scaning/recording and heard them.

It says Unknown in East System on my SDS100.

TGID:03-117 15-153

Those are 479 and 2043 in DEC. 479 is HCSO countywide (same as P25) and 2043 has never been identified I don't think.

15-XXX are randomly assigned patch TGID's by the system. So there really wouldn't be a usable tag for 15-153 (2043).

That makes sense. It'd been a while since I'd seen those on the EDACS system too. Last time I can really remember seeing it was back in 2017 when TPD was looking for the Seminole Heights killer.

HCSO is P25 Phase 1, which is why your scanner can hear them. However, Hillsborough P25 is a simulcast system so you are likely missing out on all transmissions due to simulcast distortion.

Only the SDS100/SDS200 and Unication G4 and G5 pagers can fully decode a simulcast system.

For Brandon/Valrico, monitor DISP and the odd number TAC channels. You will only need to scan the east site for these.

All units on the east half of the county from Ruskin to Thonotosassa use TAC 1 for normal responses and status updates. The other odd tac channels (TAC 3 and on) are assigned for fires, major crashes, etc. as needed.
is this still good for today? I just got the SDS 200 and now programming my fire for the Valrico Brandon area..... Avoiding West Simulcast and Even Tac numbers

Why? If you don't mind me asking your avoiding the west simulcast? Always good to have that part of the system programmed if ever your in the downtown Tampa area and want to know what is going on in the area. That is what I did when I was near the TPA airport, Bayshore, Channel Side, Harbour island area.

No. Their radios are programmed so that D2, D4, and D5 channels only affiliate on the east site. Likewise D1 and D3 are only on the west site.

So, what if they have to go outside their district to chase a bad guy? You're saying their radios will not affiliate/login to the other site if it has a stronger control channel?
