Just happened to catch a transmission on HCSO D-1 TAC. I guess what was said about Chronister unencrypting those has come to fruition.

Maybe you can educate me a little... are these channels blanketed by Encryption at the server... or can a Deputy accidentally not have encryption enabled on their radio?

I ask because we caught some unencrypted transmissions -- but I also catch TAC channels popping for a millisecond on my SDS100 before the scanner moves on....

No, they're still ENC. I think when the system gets really busy, some TGs lose their ENC temporarily, so you may hear clear transmissions from time to time.

Random question but there was a reply (I'm 99% sure it was in here) that stated the decimal format (as well as the EDACS AFS to decimal conversion) from the EDACS to P25 system for plant city or Temple Terrace PD.

Something on the lines of "add 110xx" to the EDACS decimal.

Can anyone share that information again please?

Go to the old EDACS DB listing. https://www.radioreference.com/db/sid/220

Refer to the DEC format TGID. Add 10000 to it. That's the P25 talkgroup.

For example.... Intra County West Tac 1 was 497 on EDACS, now 10497 on P25.

Totally BS they all use that excuse instead switching to a encrypted Tac channel for their pursuit! Dispatch channel should for the general public period.

Also does anyone know what the TGIDs are for tampa PDs tac channels? Ive heard them say to go to citywide and idk what the TGID is for that and I assume they have other tac channels as well cause ive heard them talk about it

I see some of these channels are P25 Phase II capable, has anyone actually seen any Phase II traffic on any of these channels? Does HCSO simply not have Phase II handhelds?
