Update Master HPDB then I get, you have the latest & that date is 12/09/2010

Ae you getting your date from Sentinel or the HP-1? In Sentinel the date is lower left, sounds like you haven't sent the update to the HP-1. I know the update is working, I just did it an hour ago. Latest db was 10/10/10 there will be another tomorrow.

Ok, I think you should uninstall Sentinel and download it from here WebHome < HomePatrol < TWiki ias it almost sounds like Sentinel has an error in it causing it to think something other than what it should. The date seems weird there.
Can't hurt to try it though.

You uninstalled Sentinel from your computer right? Doing it from HP won't affect the version on your computer. Don't plug the Hp in until you uninstalled Sentinel, downloaded it from the location I showed you and reinstalled it and updated it on your computer first. After that plug in the HP

BTW, did you set the time and date on your HP?

See my note in the other thread. He is not writing the database to HomePatrol (HomePatrol --> Write to HomePatrol).

Everytime I uninstall sentinel & re-install it, the database version in the bottom left corner says 12/09/2010. I'm transfering favourites to & from the HP-1 no problem. This morning I tried my wifes PC for a fresh install & the database in bottom left had todays date. Great I thought, until I tried to upload to the HP-1, the date then changed to 12/09/2010.

To follow up from the other thread, his computer uses a different date format and it caused a problem in the DB.

Thanks alot. Not sure if you saw Upman's reason for the problem but he thinks it's my pc's date showing dd/mm/yyyy as opposed to mm/dd/yyyy. Anyway I tried a few different pc's & used an external hard drive to finally get it loaded. Thanks for your help

Priority channel

Can a channel be set as Priority on the HP-1? Could not seem to find anything in the manual but I may have missed it.
Thanks.

No, priority isn't something Bob wants (nothing like hearing all your communications interrupted every 2 seconds, plus it won't work for most trunked systems.)

The database is updated at least weekly on Monday mornings, 9 AM central.

Recently, we've issued a new update almost daily.

HomePatrol Web Site shows the lastest build date (the build date is 1 day prior to the release date, so the current build date is 10/17/2010).

Finally, Uniden admits what I already knew, no one-on-one support. This is why I own a GRE radio. I have numerous emails from one of the representatives who assisted me in the operation of my radio. Although I will likely buy a HP, I won't be asking for Uniden's help because I know it does not exist. Sending someone to the public forum is total B.S.

If you would like to call our 800 number, they can provide one-on-one support. I am Sr. Product Manager for multiple categories. While I wish I had the kind of time available that would allow me, personnally, to provide such support, I just cannot (well, if I did, I would soon not be doing anything else...and would at some point thereafter be justifiably terminated from Uniden's employ...).

Ensnared,

Oh, puleeease! If you've been a member of RadioReference since Jan 2004, then surely you know that UPMan (Paul) is one of the most consistent supporters of this and many other sites. His comment is only meant as a disclaimer, so that folks will not address their questions to him personally, when there are frequently numerous other people who are equally qualified to provide correct answers. In all reality, he has provided one-on-one support in many cases, when it was possible and made sense. So, please don't be so quick to judge. Paul is a very helpful and considerate person and he deserves better treatment...

BTW, I'm not a Psychotherapist, but I play one on RadioReference.com... :D

Paul thank you for that info about the database updates.

Also I have called Uniden support for scanner technical questions a couple of time and also have reviewed superior support and answers, Even had a tech call me back with an answer to a question that he didn't have the answer to.

It's a nice touch to see Paul from Uniden on RR here helping out with answers as well not every company dies this.

No, that is not common knowledge to me. Believe it or not, I have other interests in life. So, this is the first time that I've seen this. Since no personal statements were written, I doubt he will "personalize" something that was meant as a general statement about Uniden. Besides, I still contend that Uniden/Radio Shack have substandard support, particularly regarding scanner parts, speaking from my negative experience.
