FERRY NORTH during 6am check-ins is reporting that at least 3 Viper towers are down including Moorehead and Newport.

Hoping/Praying everyone is staying safe and dry

I wonder if they were put up by same contractor. I know it is a big event with tornadoes spinning up and all, but to bring 3 towers down seem unusual unless there was some substandard work.

An asinine comment made with no relevant information what so ever.


The spare tire isn't flat if another center / psap is able to pull up the same talkgroups.
Perhaps you have a better means / solution?

Thanks for the link, I forgot about that map. It looks like the outages are creeping my way so I will get last minute things done a lot earlier today than I thought. The outages are already bordering my county, which I didn't think would be happening until very late this afternoon or tonight.

Not much VIPER hurricane traffic this morning. About I'll I've heard is a comms check on Statewide Calling (TG 52255) between "State EOC" and "Bertie county 911" as well as "State EOC" and Brunswick County.

Just heard some comms between Columbus and Sampson County on East Roam 1 (TG 52369). East Roam 1 has been assigned to Samson County EM by the State EOC but they also just assigned Columbus County to the same TG. Columbus said they would talk with State EOC and get their channel reassigned.

Sampson apparently didn't hear POOL 1 and thought it was ROAM 1

Some new traffic noted in the Triad:

Columbus county advised ComL on Alpha 2 that they were going to use East pool 1 for their assignments which I assume means Sampson will stay on East Roam 1. *EDIT: Scratch that... looks like Sampson might be on West Roam 1 now.*

Caught the tail end of a radio check on DPRR 8 TG 1 (TG 51909).

Also noted some traffic on Alpha 1 (TG 51955) - Giving directions... appears to be used by Onslow County.

Just got first hit on NCHARTKD3 (TG 52006), ground talking to Coast Guard helo (RID 2061564) about picking up survivors from unknown location.

UPDATE: 1:40pm Same TG - Coast Guard helo now making rooftop rescues.

Heard that only one viper tower is down currently, Kuhns was hit by lightening and is awaiting crews to do repairs, four towers are intermittent, Pea Landing, Wilmington, Bolivia and South Port

Lots of traffic on East Pool 1 (TG 52376) -- Dispatching medic units.

UIDs are 1750225, 470022 (Columbus County central), 2077674 (Medic 51), 2077090, and 2077800... not sure who all of the exact agencies are.


Also traffic on Statewide Events Foxtrot 1 -- UIDs 2075277 and 2075257.

Getting NC National Guard units discussing fueling before heading back to their armory on Statewide Events Alpha 3 (TG 51957).

Reports coming in on Statewide Calling the the Lenoir county 911 lines are down, but it now appears that the 911 lines are up but the admin lines and internet is down.
