I'm here to stay. Got my scanners and Hams all charged up and plenty of supplies. Most of my friends in the Keys are staying also. Good Luck to everyone else who is Riding The Storm Out, REO Speedwagon. Will post here daily until internet goes out.

Apparently that number is incorrect. Reading down the replies, I note that this is the correct number to call:

Checking in here from Tampa and having a blast monitoring all the action with Unitrunker, ProScan (BCD996P2), and DSD+ Fast Lane (ProVoice).

Hey folks, I've created a stub wiki article to gather communications related information to Hurricane Irma. If you can, please assist in updating this article with communications information related to Irma:

Hurricane Irma - The RadioReference Wiki

I will occasionally gather info from this thread and post it there. Every RadioReference member is allowed to as well.

Thanks!

I'm listening to the Miami Online feed, and they've been making numerous all-call announcements ordering all "Bravo" personnel to report back to the roll call location, or something like that. Can anyone confirm what they are doing? Are PD units being evacuated?

MDPD and most other South Floridian LEOs are now operating on a 12-on, 12-off shift schedule, so "Bravo" units would be second shift personnel -- likely being called in early, when the tropical storm force winds are just beginning.

Lee County Area here. I've got a 136-174MHz Radio, along with 380-520Mhz. Anyone have any recommendations on frequencies to program in and monitor?

Starting to get some strong storms from the outer bands here in the Keys. Surprised my power, cable and internet are still working but probably not much longer. Outages already reported north and south of my neighborhood. This evening is when the real adventure begins with 100 or so winds for nearly 24 hours they are predicting. Good Luck to all my fellow Floridians who stayed.

My home is 17' above sea level. It is concrete structure with steel shutters all around. Roof is probably the most vulnerable but built to withstand 150 winds. Probably 10,000 or more people stayed here in the Keys. As long as I don't take the direct Cat 5 or high 4 eye, We should be fine. The more I see the eye move west before turning north, the better we feel about it. Getting occasional strong storms now from the outer bands and can't believe my power, cable and internet is still on. Not for much longer I bet as outages are already reported north and south of me.
