ok so I made a purchase of the win550 about a month ago and never received an email with the passcodes... Since then I did some research and found the developer has since passed. I paid for the program and the web site did take my money but I can't get a hold of anyone. I found a number of his email addresses and those did not go through. I also found a number of different phone numbers... all of which I called and either they were disconnected or went to a full mailbox. I am not so upset that I'm out the money but I am ticked off that someone is benefitting from the website. Someone has to be paying the fees for the website. Anyway, I have the program but need a key... does anyone have a key for this program...... thanks in advance.

Each instance requires it's own key and it's a copyrighted program so please don't ask for a key. I'd file a dispute with the CC company.

Where did you hear that Don Starr had passed away? Can you please provide a link?

When I was doing my research and I found his home address and home phone numbers I also found his obituary quite by accident. In terms of the program... I realize it's copyrighted and I realize I can get a refund from my credit card company but it's the princlple... I paid for a program that I need. Someone is collecting those purchases that can still be made. I had purchased the program specific for the pro96 and have those keys. I need to use this program for a different scanner.

Can you provide a link to the obituary?

There are quite a lot of posts on Radio Reference going back 4 or 5 years indicating that Don Starr had abandoned any form of customer support, and that getting the keys for Starrsoft software after paying for them was a crap shoot at best. Many members here have had to file disputes with their payment service for a refund.

You can also use ARC500 and PSREdit500 software. Both are excellent programs. I use Butel ARC500 Basic for my Radio Shack PRO-106 and PRO-197. The Pro version provides logging and audio recording. Butel is active on this forum to answer your questions.

Really? Telling everyone in an open forum, that he passed and then bailing when asked for the source...

Why lie about that? Ohhh right, you want a free key. You're full of :poop: , and your attempt to get a freebee was comical at best. Thanks for the laugh though, good kick start to a Friday morning. :coffee: Cheers.

He's been begging for free Win500 keys over on Reddit also.

Interesting how he has issues with other people's principles........

I realize it's copyrighted and I realize I can get a refund from my credit card company but it's the princlple...

Yet he has no problem asking others to give him their keys to copyrighted software.
