Oh, county definitely needs a better system. But that incident was crazy...I think the BC didnt give a sizeup until 75 minutes after the first engine arrived.

And nearly all the Verdugo testing on the Burbank cell is being carried on the Glendale Cell....but I am beginning to think that the Glendale cell covers a lot of Burbank also....probably from that location on Mt Lee?

I think that theyre going to have Red 1 up to Red 5 like the good ol days. then emergency, then command channels for all of the agencies. Is it just a coincidence that there are 11 additional channels listed below?

Glendale cell on Mt Lee?
According to the ICIS website coverage plots etc the cell is located over-looking Glendale not on Mt Lee. Unless I'm mistaken Mt Lee is the location of a future ICIS cell. Where ever the Glendale cell is located it has a stronger signal than the Burbank cell here in the SFV since that cell is higher elevation etc...

VFCC will have a total of 16 channels at cutover. The talkgroups are not all sequential.

Mount Lee has been part of the Glendale simulcast cell for several years.

Interesting testing today of the Verdugo system. Verdugo was asked to do a test on one of the ICIS channels and she replied they had not been training on ICIS yet, so its still a ways off to the cutover.

Oh and 33728 is Red 7 which is not sequential by my book.

They have also been testing the CAD Alerting and I hear nothing. Anyone hear anything?

I heard some concerns about that last week on one of the talkgroups.

I think during that ICIS demonstration they used some of the volunteer disaster services people in Burbank and Glendale...perhaps they need to muster some more in all the Verdugo cities (explorers, cert) and give the dispatchers some time talking to people on the new system before or after their shifts (to minimize o/t costs)

I am no expert in radio systems but in the 30+ years I have been monitoring radio systems ICIS as far as I am concerned is the best system I have seen/heard. Kudos to all who designed and put it together. To hope for a system that may or may not happen is well,,,,, you know LOL.

I caught a 790 series engine testing a whole bunch of red channels on the glendale cell yesterday with Verdugo, but couldnt make it to the computer in time to see the tgs. reviewing the logs didnt help me a whole lot either. did anyone else catch them by any chance?

I'd volunteer to do it :)

I have been listening to the traffic on Talkgroup 5200. They are calling it DPHD1 (Pasadena Health Department)....some are traveling to the Arrowhead fire zone. Not sure if they are going up the mountain or reporting the FEMA center in San Berdoo. I remember when they were testing the cells hearing someone from the EVOC center south of Devore...I think that is the eastern limits of the ICIS System.

Man, the deep voiced dispatcher on Red 1 is getting pretty mad easily.

Also I noticed Verdugos coming in with alot of static and alot of feedback.
