Has anyone heard any activity on Pasadena police media dispatch TG 2485 lately? Also anything on CHP simulcast TG? Very hard to get intelligible broadcasts on HP1 in Pasadena.

Thank You, I will update my scanner, also will try monitoring 154.370 for Verdugo dispatch, to bypass problems with the digital trunking signals and my HP1.

Has this happened yet? I don't see it reflected in the DB.

Four legacy Pasadena frequencies to be added to Glendale site should be following per FCC licensing.

482.3375
482.4375
482.5375
482.6375

Also, I see 770.1625 listed as being a part of the Montebello site, is that a typo?

Thanks!

For Pasadena, no one has submitted info yet showing the 4 additional frequencies.

On Montebello, the CC shows 770.1625. Montebello supposedly will have 2 other 700mhz frequencies 773.9625 and 774.6625 but don't know if they will be part of ICI, or some other usage.

Currently running Unitrunker and those 4 freqs are not showing up, so not yet.

The 4 Pasadena frequencies are awaiting FCC approval.

Having been to all 7 of the Montebello sites very recently I can pretty much guarantee there is no plan to add 700mhz to the Montebello cell at this time...especially since there are no 700mhz GTRs in our racks. Most of the ICI agencies that bought APX8000s didn't even purchase the 7/800mhz entitlement.

470.2125 on the Glendale Site ..... I’ve noticed lately that the majority of voice transmissions (not all) on 470.2125 come in choppy and fragmented. I also see this on 482.4875, 482.3875 & 482.2375 but far less often. All of the other frequencies on the site consistently come in clear. This is happening on a 396XT, 325P2, SDS100 & SDS200. I’m in west Glendale near the equestrian center. Anyone else experiencing this?

That happens to me too. I thought it was my old Pro 96 not handling P25 well and the fact that I am in the west SFV. I get ICI fine when they are using the Oat transmitter.

I am in Glendale too. I get choppy and fragmented comms at various times. Have you listened to 482.050? I hear that that freq. is for the Glendale PD Substation at the Galleria. Dispatch comes in very well. I have heard comms of undercover ops too. Bob.

Monitored TG 2485 (Pasadena media channel) for several hours on 04/29/2020 and it was completely silent.
It seems that its use is EXTREMELY rare. After I heard it on the 21st, I think I heard it once or twice after that and haven't heard anything since. It seems to be just the dispatcher's voice. The unit's responses appear to be on the main talkgroup and are still encrypted. It is, however, actual dispatch calls and not "over the air media statements" if that makes sense. While it isn't a talkgroup used very often, I think it is still worth keeping in my scanlist. I have it as a priority object since its use is so sporadic I think it would be easy to miss. Also, as far as I am aware, SPPD is still on its analog 470 MHz channel for dispatch. Do they even use ICI anymore?

Maybe TG 2485 is "hot" or in progress calls, I remember listening to Pasadena Police and they would have a fair amout of general type calls, rarely they would have a shooting in NW and the dispatcher would make sure every unit would hear the call by broadcasting an Alert tone before the broadcast and then "Attn Units 245 just occurred, 1900 blk of summit"etc.

SPPD is pretty much on 470 I have heard them once in a while say go to Tac 1, which is ICIS, they used it last year for the 4th of July parade and fireworks, which have been cancelled this year. With Officers having cell phones they just seem to use those instead of Tacs anymore. I hear "21 me" alot on SPPD.

Pasadena Media Talkgroup was created due to the media houding them for a HOT talkgroup. But its hardly ever used. Less and less as time goes on. This is from my understanding.

TalkGroup 2485 Media was created when the Pasadena star out cried about the encryption and lack of transparency. It was set up to allow the dispatchers to broadcast an initial media worthy dispatch in the clear. This was accomplished by a 2nd foot petal being pressed and radio traffic being broadcast on PD1 Encrypted and over Pasadena Media Unencrypted.

I take that back, the dispatch consoles this afternoon are encrypted. Last night however, I was able to hear street racers on Eastern & Garfield and an attempt suicide on Muller Street from one console. Not sure what's going on.
