Amen to that buddy had things stayed simple like just vhf and UHF there wouldn't be such a mess
Uniden is not a non-profit organization.
Furthermore, there are those who don't want all the features, i.e., I have no use for ProVoice or NXDN. The more "features," the higher the price.
That's true all these p25 systems are such a waste of money they don't half work most of the time and they always have to have an update just so they work it's just rediculous when All they have to do is just a little work on the old system and have something way more reliable
I don't know but they are supposed to be the best of the best and they're not they are under a contract with Motorola solutions and they are always having some sort of break down and have to be updated every couple months since they went digital when they had the original trunked systems they never had that problem
Regarding the range - the FCC probably doesn't want the system transmitting 100 miles away because that uses up scarce frequencies that other systems aren't able to use. A lot of systems are intentionally configured to be used within the intended jurisdiction and not much beyond that.I'll give an example when my county first went to 800 the system worked great it had range that was second to none I could be almost 100 miles away and still had radio contact since they went digital it went from that to about 30 miles and they went from 4 towers to 6 and got worse
Bell Fleetnet has a regular feature like this.Which system would this be?
Dude you are way too serious....lolProve it.
Do not forget the man that designed the sds scanners pasted away
No inventor lives forever. People didn't stop using telephones when Alexander Graham Bell died in 1922. In fact the company he founded, AT&T, is still very much alive almost 140 years later. So, it's incumbent upon Uniden to continue product development and support long after the designer has left this earth.Do not forget the man that designed the sds scanners pasted away
