I found the 260 and 160 to be as sensitive as any of the others in my collection, perhaps a little better than the others but not remarkably so. Perhaps the sensitivity has more to do with the newness rather than different designs.

I am currently using the 260 for GMRS, rail and AC stuff at home and the 160 for railfanning and plane watching and they seem to work well for all of them,

Most Uniden Beta Testers are never known.
There was one for the SDS series in Columbus Ohio that meet with UPMan several times but the name slips me.
That would have been Jason Houk, the reason I bought my SDS 100. He was a great reviewer! 👍
I even got him to answer some of my questions a the time and compare the 100 & 200 side by side!

Thanks Rich, just maybe you can come out of retirement for one show to give us your thoughts In person, it would be a standing room only show 😉

New models OK, I'm sure there is a market for them. Especially with air and rail. I love my BCT15x for air and misc Fed Stuff and occasional Ham. However, I just bought my 3rd SDS from Scannermaster. I'm surrounded by multiple different simulcast systems that I couldn't keep up with an SDS200 and 100 so in comes another 200. These new models will definitely depend on your location and interests.

1000 channels in 2023 ? That might have made sense over 20 years ago but not now. Even some cheap Chinese HT's come with more memory than that. I'd also ditch NXDN and just include P25 + DMR.

Yet the BC125AT with a mere 500 channels still sells very well......

Ditch NXDN and add P25? Just buy a 325 because that is what you have just made once you add the DMR.

This is primarily due to the failure of the RH-96 to sell well.

There is an opportunity for some enterprising SW engineer to come up with one.

I can't say it will never happen, but there is a lot more to do first.

You all would know the numbers better than us for sure....but...with all of the talk about it, people wishing for it, and all that, it's hard to believe it didn't sell well.

When I upgraded my mobile from a 996XT to a 536, I no longer could use the RH-96. After a few months I listed it on eBay and was shocked when the final bid was in the upper $300 range plus shipping. It was a hot commodity. With the advancement in technology, etc., a color touchscreen that could connect via USB to the SDS200 would likely sell like crazy. (I know there is an aftermarket one, I'm talking about an official Uniden one.) You could even have a bundle where the SDS200 + the Remote Display were sold together (not necessarily at a discount, just as a package).

Yes, those few who want or need them really want or need them. But the overall numbers just are not there.

Scanner Master even made a deal to have a lot (technical term, not the general meaning) made just for them, and they sold well for a short period of time, then fizzled out.

I don't know the numbers myself, but I trust the person who did (UPMan), and I'm sure he got those from the bean counters asking why Uniden is making this product. Uniden even made a concept app that could be used as a remote head of sorts. Nobody ever took that and ran.

UPMan made a couple of posts around the time that they were discontinued indicating that the sales were so bad that the cost of development was never recovered.
