FWIW I just found this tidbit of information on page 11 of the BCD260DN English owner's manual:

PC Program - you can transfer data to and from your scanner and your
personal computer and control the scanner using a computer through
BCDX60DN SS program software (available through the product page on
www.uniden.com/products).

And found on page 64 in the same English manual:

UPDATE FIRMWARE USING PC
From time to time, Uniden will release firmware updates to improve existing
functionality, add new features, or address issues found in its operation.
Updating the firmware takes just a few minutes and is easily accomplished
using Sentinel software.
BC_VUP software is available for download through the BCD260DN’s product
page at www.uniden.com, Customer Support. BC_VUP connects to the
internet and checks for the current firmware version to download.
After downloading the BC_VUP software to your PC, simply connect your
scanner to your PC using the supplied USB cable. Then, in BC_VUP, select
Model/Version and follow the on-screen prompts.
Good catch. thanks

Nothing at Uniden's site thus far, but I see Butel has their program up for sale:

Using the code UNIDEN you can get 10% off. Since the software is $39.95 that doesn't amount to much, but something at least. I do presume that Uniden will release something at some point since it is supposed to be PC programmable.

That is quite true, we shall have to see what comes down the pike. For myself, I have no interest in these models anyway. While they may fit into someone's plans/needs, they don't really fill any need I have.

Do not get your hopes up they released the 325p2 and the 996p2 where is that software.
Nor the BCT15X.

But ... they did release software for the SR30C, and if I remember correctly the new scanners will be "banks of channels" not the object-oriented architecture of the above-mentioned scanners. Time will tell I guess.

Personally it won't matter to me. If I do buy one (still undecided) I won't use it anyways.

The 785D and 796D 250D 296D all came with a very basic software. It was not until the 436 536 SDS100 SDS200 that we got better software from Uniden but I still would buy PROSCAN because 1 interface works for all and it works better short of FIRMWARE updates.

CB World (wearecb.com) has added the BCD160DN ($249.99) and BCD260DN ($349.99) to their website. Both are currently listed as "Out-of-stock" and they are not accepting orders at this time.

That's funny apparently zip Scanners and Bearcat Warehouse are currently if you pre-order charging your debit or credit card as we speak, i would do it but I am also thinking it might be pushed back another we who knows how long, lol

and zip scanners is here

on a side note i wonder if the new scanners the 160 and 260 have alpha tagging?
