Thanks for the explanation i know some people think having the 436 and 536 is over kill here I still like it as I can now listen to the wsp with it.

as for the other scanners I used to recommend the Whistler 1010 but being sold out I tell people to use a 30c or 125at here or a 355n or the 15x anything else is kinda of over kill, not that I mind I love scanning as its a good hobby for me.

i from time to time recommend the 75xlt as well for people on a fixed income, as for me I will still have the 160 and 260 as I am looking to see how it handles and to see if there is any bugs in it that need to be worked out.

Greetings,
Just bought a BCD160DN as my first scanner. Not interested in police scanning, but one place to hear GMRS/CB/MURS/ham/Marine/aircraft/RR and city bands (I am an early election judge for the city.)
I have the Uniden PC software and it works. Does anybody know if ARC125 software will work with the BCD160DN. I ask because many folks call the 160 a 125 with DMR and NXDN
Thanks!

You are correct. Someone posted a link to download it a few weeks ago and I could have sworn it was called Sentinel somewhere but I don’t see any reference to that name in the product. Sorry for that.
No biggie and to add to the confusion the owners manual shows this...

UPDATE FIRMWARE USING PC From time to time, Uniden will release fi rmware updates to improve existing functionality, add new features, or address issues found in its operation. Updating the firmware takes just a few minutes and is easily accomplished using Sentinel software.

Obviously that ain't right.

Hmm sounds like Uniden and MSI use the same editor for stuff like that, copying and pasting the same stuff for over a decade...what is the minimum version required, 10? Or was that 10 HEX = 16 DEC? 🤦‍♂️

Pro Scan observation the buttons don’t do what they have written on them on the 160 display
L/O turns the light out
Menu does a lockout
SVC = Menu
WX = Function and locks the display

Or is that how it’s supposed to be, I haven’t used Pro Scan that much, please correct me if I’m wrong! Thanks

Stupid question, is the correct scanner type selected?

I think someone linked to this on Zip Scanners quite a while back.... it's still there:
