If you want to monitor a Hytera system the "60" series will work just fine. I have both the sds100 and the 996p2 both with the paid DMR upgrade and they will not trunk track a Hytera system very well
Can you please post some pictures of the TRX-1 showing the problems. ThanksNow trying the embrace the BCD160DN again, because the TRX-1 purchase was a massive fail. While peeling off the protective film the entire front panel came off too.. Also lots of dried out glue or something that looks like it behind the glass..
JoeBearcat mentioned that Uniden are working on a firmware upgrade for all scanner models that will improve DMR decode performance. Conventional DMR works good but it is the control channel trunk tracking that has issues. If you want to monitor a Hytera system the "60" series will work just fine. Speaking as a former owner as of today; boxed up and returned to Uniden today; there are several others that have also reported these same issues; have you spent any time with VHF airband or only Railroad and DMR/NXDN; these issues are there and are clearly either hardware and/software related.@W2GLD
1 question about this power reset issue I have on of the lowest 160 and 260 as I bought one the first day they sold I do not have this issue but I posted that the front end is overloaded easy in a high rf area.
The question I have is are you speaking as an owner of both or repeating hear say?
Been down this road with Uniden; remember all the repairs with the BCD536HP early scanners?I see folks posting about sending back the unit due to some issues. If I were to get the unit, I would hang onto it. You can bet Uniden will be issuing firmware upgrades in the near future. Happens with most new radios. Just keep posting issues so Joe bearcat can relay the information. Just look back at previous uniden radios and how many firmware upgrades has happened. Give it time.
Speaking from product development experience; firmware is always a bandaid to hardware design issues!Depends what issue they find. Most cases it’s fixable with a firmware upgrade.
The beta testers had the units for two years, plenty of time to come up with a fix if possible, but we haven’t seen one!I see folks posting about sending back the unit due to some issues. I also got my 260 a couple days after Uniden had them on their website and have had no problems... it seems to have a bit hotter receive than my 15x, but still no overload from the Burlington Northern towers about 200 feet away or the Gas company repeater about a block over. It also runs 24/7 and I've never had any issues needing to reset mine either, which is rather odd that one of these would have that problem since they are not a sd card radio. What little DMR there is around here seems to work fine also. I can't comment on the airband or railroad as I mostly use it for fire, ems, and law analog for my area.My BCD160DN serial number is less than 20 spend 8 hours a day with it.
My BCD260DN serial number is less than 50 and this scanner is logging voice and information 24/7.
They were also delivered 2 days after first day they went on sale.
mondaro- Get a RO from Police Scanner Outlet in Maryland and send it back for a refund. Why keep something that isn't working out for you? Did you toss out the box?I received my radio from Bearcat Warehouse BC260DN on Friday and had the weekend to set it up and program it.
Note if using the software " Rember to unlock " all the channels they will be in white while a red line means that
that the channel is locked out, why it's constructed that who knows, also if the software is having a hard time
not seeing the radio just repeat the steps again and should work for you, Those who noted on the using an
outside antenna are correct on receiving, I was very disappointed in the receive outside of my immediate area
not very good. Hope his helps those wanting this radio save a few more dollars on go with the SDS-200
you will be happier at the end of the day !!
