Is this a new model?
Since it’s a BCD I would think it’s digital…Looks like an analog base with the 996 form factor. At first I thought it was BCT15 but it isn’t. Hmmmm.
I concur.Since it’s a BCD I would think it’s digital…
My guess is that the BCD160DN is a new portable version. No FCC label on the back, nothing on the FCC OET Authorization website for this year.
With a Google search for that model, the only other reference I found is from a Uniden 125 software webpage from Butel.
Nothing there for bcd260dn however, the cached version from 7/19/23 shows "bcd260dn bcd160dn" at the bottom under Keywords.![]()
Interesting. Here is the unrelated original vintage Uniden BC260. So this is obviously an update!
I actually owned an original Bearcat 260. It was made by Electra and by Uniden as it was introduced in 1983 right when the conversion or sale happened. It was a great design but the reception and sensitivity was awful.A really weird design. We had a few installed in supervisors vehicles and they were just okay.
If Universal Radio was still in business I'm sure they would already have all of the details/specs of the brand-new Uniden BCD260DN posted on their website and would be taking pre-orders with FREE shipping included! They were certainly on top of their game when it came to the release of any new models of radios/scanners or other related equipment.I found this on the Uniden website:
