Is Whistler Still in the Scanner Business ?

I pray I did not get taken, but I paid the money, sent in a psr800 for update. It was received and that’s been all I’ve heard. I like others have continuously called, sent multiple emails to different addresses at whistler group, just crickets. I know I am able to get my money back but I’m really troubled that I voluntarily sent my nice scanner to no man’s land. Hope it works out for all of us. Positive thoughts ✌️

It adds DMR as well as the ability to use later firmware updates. There have been many reports of improved performance after the upgrade.
With the Pro18 and Pro668 it adds P25 Phase 2 and DMR and changes it into a Whistler WS1080 with the use of Whistler Database Downloads.
But right now not sure if I would send my working Pro18 and Pro668 along with $200 to an unknown future.

The PRO-668 is already P25 Phase 2 without the upgrade. It just adds DMR. The PRO-18 is Phase 1 only. The upgrade adds both Phase 2 and DMR.

I sent in my 1095 a month ago. I needed the antenna connection replaced because my cat decided to play parkour one night and jumped on the back of it snapping it off. I sent it with signature confirmation. Somebody signed for it and its been radio silence since then. I also have a TRX-1. I am probably gonna get pooped on but I am not a fan on Uniden. I had a BCT-15X and a 436hp and while they were really nice radios, and gold standard in scanners, I felt my whistler products had better reception and coverage. Probably a setting thing I know.

I had the "1080" upgrade done to my 668 and it improved Phase 2 reception a lot

I tried to find where I read it in an FB scanner group. While I prefer Uniden. I seem to recall a post on FB saying they are moving. ATST, I did a Google search and, found they had filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection in 1999. Granted that was 25yrs. ago. This ominous lack of contact is still concerning for Whistler customers.

To be fair, the denizens of the RR forums have been predicting the demise of Whistler since at least 2016 that I can think of.
i would like to see Whistler come out with a new scanner, like the TRX-1, but with a color screen. I have a TRX-1, WS-1088, and a PSR-800 and all are performing well. Also, I have found it easy to program the SD card from my computer.
So would I🫤 but reality is different😃
After all this time it is hard to believe that we have heard from no one in any forum about the actual status of the company.

That's funny, can't update my TRX-1 today.
I get the same information when I try to update. Ridiculous!
