I have several Whistler scanners and my database and firmware were years out date. They still worked great and I run them 24/7. Last month I manually updated the firmware as needed as well as installed the latest library. Hurrah for me. My skill set allowed me to overcome the obstacle. Mama said I was special ;)

Is this first world problem of not being able to update with a click of a button the downfall of mankind? The time spent posting could have been used to manually…

I sent in my 1095 a month ago. I needed the antenna connection replaced because my cat decided to play parkour one night and jumped on the back of it snapping it off. I sent it with signature confirmation. Somebody signed for it and it’s been radio silence since then. I also have a TRX-1. I am probably gonna get pooped on but I am not a fan on Uniden. I had a BCT-15X and a 436hp and while they were really nice radios, and gold standard in scanners, I felt my whistler products had better reception and coverage. Probably a setting thing I know.
My favorite scanners were my Pro 197/107 series. I could program them in my sleep and the audio was fantastic. I left Whistler/RS/GRE behind for three reasons.
1. Proscan for remote operation
2. In the middle of multiple P25 simulcast cells
3. Milair sensitivity specs are fairly deaf compared to Uniden.

I really wish I could have my 107 back in the car, but I’d never hear anything in all the simulcast!

I pray I did not get taken, but I paid the money, sent in a psr800 for update. It was received and that’s been all I’ve heard. I like others have continuously called, sent multiple emails to different addresses at whistler group, just crickets. I know I am able to get my money back but I’m really troubled that I voluntarily sent my nice scanner to no man’s land. Hope it works out for all of us. Positive thoughts ✌️
Exactly my story ! Mine already had the Legacy upgrade years ago but was in to replace the USB socket .. crickets. How would you get your payment returned ??

Lambert .. First response from Whistler scanner repair shop ..' your scanner repair is done and on it's way back to you '
My request was only to have the USB socket replaced .. my PSR-800 EZ SCAN WAS WORKING perfectly .
They note on the repair ticket that work performed was "Replace logic module / USB rubber cover".

I hope you have better luck than I have !

Myself and I think a few others weren't aware of an alternative method of downloading the library; we weren't complaining about the number of computer mouse clicks to accomplish it. Thanks to buddrousa for an adult response vs your eight-year old's response.

Not to stray off topic but I have to respectfully disagree. Yes Uniden‘s are great on analog and they have a higher channels per second scan rate. But my 197/106 hear everything on MilAir that my Airspy SDR using the fast scanner plug-in picks up. My old BC296 dId not hear any better and didn’t have as good audio in my experience either.

I hear everything during the Northern Strike exercises and all routine training in the Steelhead/Pike/Steelgate MOA’s. The Uniden’s are great radios but saying the Pro197 is “fairly deaf” on MilAir is simply not true. As they say, “A radio is only as good as its antenna.” and “Location, location, location” are probably a more accurate statements. I use an outdoor antenna and am fairly close to the Grayling range, ymmv.

To add to that, the recovered audio on both P25 and DMR sounds so much better on GRE-based scanners. And if you filter out the FM broadcast band the VHF sensitivity is great. Simulcast OTOH sucks on every GRE-based scanner I have.

I’m down by Battle Creek, MI. I run a BC15X and an outdoor antenna. I don’t have apples to apples experience but with my distance to all the fun milair, I went with good specs to make sure I could hear it.

I also agree with @KevinC , the P25 audio on GRE is so nice.

It's too bad there still not in business because my RS 197/106 are very nice scanners,...The audio volume on my Harris P25 Illinois county is low on my Uniden scanners and on the 197/106 is 40% louder , I sure wish they did P2

As I mentioned, I am still not sure of their actual status. Even if they are, unfortunately, I do not think they would be able to solve your problems😀

Whistler's website is up, and four of the six scanners they make are for sale on that site. Time is 4:00 pm Pacific Time.

The same stock they have had for months 2 ANALOG Scanner and 2 P25 PHASE 1 Scanners. You know stuff that is not selling fast.
The other fact you are missing is Whistler is a Holding Company that pays others to make Products for them.
You think they are not willing to order a minimum order of TRX's?
