Updating library

As of this morning, there is a new update of the Iscan library, Library 10. It's all ready for your downloading.

I am still not sure what is the best way to update my already created playlists when a new library comes out.

Sure I can copy the new library over to the SD card but that does not update any playlists
that I have already created.

Since I am on a trunked system here in Nevada and not knowing what was updated in the new library every time I try to update my EDACS trunk system it wipes my playlists and I have to start all over.

There must be a better way than to go through this every week.

Well if you just go into the online database on the RR website and click on your state, it will tell you if any updates have taken place. Green or yellow colors mean it was recently updated, if no updates I wouldn't worry about it. Thats the way I do it anyway. I'm a few updates behind and my scanner works just fine.

Yes, it seems like once a week now the library gets updated. Most of the updates don't affect me as I live in a very rural area. Every once and a while something around here changes, not to often though. I have a whole 40 frequencies to choose from, all conventional.

Quick Questions

Hi everyone, I've had my 107 for about a week now and have really enjoyed it so far. Great scanner. I have a couple of questions that I haven't been able to find answers for:

1) I see where I can enter SAME codes on the weather tab - how do I enable the scanner to use these SAME codes? I don't know these codes - are they just a special code that gets transmitted on the standard weather channel frequencies (162.xxx), or somewhere else? Do I need to set a priority on a weather frequency to use this? I do have my FIPS number in there.

2) Where do I enable the signal stalker function? I can't find that anywhere on the scanner or the software....

Thanks!

Engine3 You could always plug your pro-107 into your computers usb port for recharging. But I find it's better to use a quality battery charger, and buy good AA rechargeable batteries and charge them seperately from the scanner. This way you always have a supply on hand and the rechargers inside the scanners aren't the most effecient. Here is where I buy mine from.
Rechargeable Batteries Battery Chargers Rechargeable Lithium Digital Camera Batteries Maha Ansmann Energizer Sanyo ZTS

Which charger did you go with?

1 - press skywarn button which takes you to weather channels, then hit menu to goto weather menu and turn weather priority ON, then go down and enter your SAME code on the weather repeater you can hear.

2 - press menu, goto search, select signal stalker and you are in busn! ;-)

Good idea, that will make it easier to see if the database in my county has been updated.

They just rebanded the repeaters here so I was updating my play lists on a regular basis
to make sure I was receiving everything.

I assume I can look at the database online not being a premium member.

I am sure RR would like to see this database take off for other radio models as I feel I already paid extra to get it in the purchase of the radio. (if I choose to keep it).

Too bad Radioreference or RadioShack doesn't have an RSS link for iScan database updates? (hint, hint).

So far with a pair of Rayovac hybrid 2100mA batteries, with the radio on constantly scanning a busy trunk system and conventional, I have had it on almost 10 hours straight before the battery icon changed from full to half. I charge my batteries in either a Maha C9000 or Sanyo eneloops charger.

I did something similar, my Dad has one of those fake tapes that you put in a tape player and has a cord to connect to a CD player or MP3 player, just plugged that into my scanner and it worked fine.

You would just need a cable that fits the jack on your stereo and a 1/8" mono or stereo jack on the other.

Iscan Case

I found a "Universal GPS" case at "Big Lots" for $6 yesterday. The case is padded and the Iscan fits in it nicely with room for the antenna along side. There is also a pocket on the outside. The case has a carabiner for attaching to a belt loop but no loops or other method to attach it to your belt. If you want to "wear" the scanner on your belt - this is not your case. However, if you want a case to protect it in your briefcase or backpack this may be just the ticket. Did I mention it was only $6?

That's a cool find. I see some neat stuff at Big Lot's (odd lot's) from time to time.

Anyone else notice when importing data from the database to the SD card, that there is a check box to L/O digital and/or encrypted data? Nice feature!
