Pro 107

I have had mine for almost a week now,,,,a few things:

When you use multiple SD cards it is great,,,you can program, edit and copy one card and while listening to the scanner and always keep one in the laptop.

The software loaded fine for me, but I did run into the problem of the software not recognizing my iscan SD card and I had to go into device manager and reload the drivers 2-3 times.

When you go to upload the new playlists or Library to the SD (laptop) card make sure that you choose the correct file path, If your computer doesn't display the correct file path hit "rescan" or if it still doesn't you will have to reload drivers,,,,if you go to load into the wrong file path it WILL freeze and you will have to Clr + ALt+ Delete and restart.

These are just a few things I have run into but It is still much easier than my Pro-95 and all the features that come with this scanner,,,it is unbeatable and easy on the Batteries,,,,Other scanner manufactures need to take note of this scanner it is future of scanning,

It might be helpful for others if you listed the operating system and computer type.

I just got a PRO-107 scanner yesterday and when I tried to copy the new library to the SD card, I get this error message... what does this mean?

Any chance you pushed the write protect on the SD card to the protect position?

I finally got the updated library on to the SD card...seems I can't use the built in card-reader on my computer, I had to use a seperate reader plugged in a usb port. Had no problem after that.

Mike I had the same message, I was using the wrong drive, My SD card uses "I" drive, once I figures that out everything went smoothly. If you get a pop up screen when you insert your SD card from windows, close it out and use only the software window.

Apparently some computers come with "read only" SD drives. It goes back to the fact that you may need an external card reader for database and program edit features or possibly use the interface that is included in a digital camera to transfer files to and from the SD card.

I've had my 107 for about a week and was initially very happy with it, but it's going back to RS. The time I've spent messing with the software and a corrupted SD card is just too much. Running side by side with my BCT15X I find the 107 missing quite a few calls and flat out not hearing what it should.

Maybe my state (WA) has been overlooked, but the RR database is very poor for my area and surrounding states. The main selling point and ease of use depends on the database and it's just not there. With the reliance so much on software I don't feel confident I'll be able to use this scanner effectively. I do like the concept and for an easy out of the box scanner it's a winner. Maybe if a digital version comes out and better software I'll take another look.

what he said pretty well sum's up how i feel. not being able to add/change on the fly was kind of the deal breaker.so after less than a week, mine went back too. i do have to stick up for the scanner and say that i'm partially to blame. i'm not the most computer proficient person going. so the hunt continue's.

"alway's looking for the next ex-scanner".

Pro-107 Update

Well I've had my Pro-107 for 1 week now and I have to say that this is one of RS best scanners. Everything is working great and I am having a blast tweaking and changing the scanner to my liking.
It has great reception and a very clean squelch tail, the volume/speaker is superb and I like the customisable light settings. I did upgrade the antenna and that made a big difference, but hey I do that with every scanner anyway. The software seems very easy to learn to use, yes there is a slight learning curve to it. But it was fun learning and I'm very happy with this scanner so far. I've noticed I'm not listening to my other scanners as much now. the Pro-107 scans almost all day long and my Pro-137 scans at night. Thats my story, how about yours?

Hello, I love mine also. What antenna (model #) did you buy and and where did you buy it?
What dB is the one that came with it and what dB is the new antenna?

Thanks
Greg
