3-xx: Troop 3 Command Staff
3-1xx/3-2xx: Patrol
3-3xx: Investigations? (Need to see/hear more to confirm)
3-4xx: Probationary Troopers
The formerly known 2-2 is now 3-4, so it would appear the higher up you are, the less numbers you have to remember

3-6xx series are the Weigh Stations radio signatures. 3-605/3-606 (both using RID 1372016/SC-16) have come up on T3-Southwest.

Guessing that 3-605/3-606 are TWIs (truck weight inspectors). Per the SC21 wiki, RID 1372016 is the radio at Scale 16 (I-55 NB, Bolingbrook).

That would be the one! They used to be in the 2-2xx/5-2xx radio signature area prior to the Troop 3 radio signatures.

When will changes appear in the database itself? I'm still seeing districts vs troops when pulling using Proscan.
Information in the Radio Reference database for the new Illinois State Police Troop talkgroups is a work in progress. Talkgroups are being moved from their former District subcategories to their new Troop subcategories as usage is confirmed. I believe that usage of all but one (TG 13011, Troop 6 Secondary / former D20A) of the new Troop primary and secondary talkgroups have been confirmed.

The former ISP District talkgroup subcategories will remain in the database for at least a while. Some of the "old" District talkgroups (ISPERN, car-to-car, Tac, etc.) are bound to see use by the Troops. If anyone is able to confirm such usage, please submit the particulars to the SC21 Radio Reference database page so the talkgroup(s) can be moved to the proper Troop subcategory.

The Radio Reference database is only as accurate as the information that is shared/submitted by you, the user. Database admins can only hear so much - we really depend on your help to make the database as accurate as possibly for everyone!

Thanks!

Looks like the former Dist. 17 move to 7A has been completed. Haven't seen 17A patched with 7A for some time. All of the Troop 2 traffic is on 7A (9015) now.

All current TalkGroups will remain in place, and will be renamed (see new config below). Each troop will use the current "A" TalkGroups from each current District as either Primary or Secondary. The lower of the 2 will act as the new "Primary", the higher of the two will act as the new "Secondary". Not all troops will use the Secondary talkgroups 24/7, however I would assume during high loads they will.

Examples:
Troop 1:
  • Primary (Current District 1A)
  • Secondary (Current District 16A)
Troop 2:
  • Primary (Current 7A)
  • Secondary (Current 17A)

Exceptions:
Troop 7 (Current D10) won't have a secondary TG. Until configurations are completed, current "B" TalkGroups will be utilized.

Troop 3:
  • North: D2-A
  • Middle: DC-C
  • South: DC-D
  • Southwest: D5-A
  • Admin/Other: DC-A

EDIT: I replied in a post below, this came directly from a contact, who was notified of the change by the state.
I should also clarify to my above post, from my understanding all primary traffic will be on primary. All car-to-car/secondary traffic will be on Secondary. Just because it's the old A channel, does not mean it'll be used as an A channel for a specific area.
Posted in the new SC21 thread too but hearing T4 using 13002, T5 using 13000, T6 using 13004, T7 using 13007, all as expected. Haven't seen any other talkgroup usage than that on site 229.

Happy New Year!
Monitoring new troop 2. D-17A coming across as TG 9019. Same as D-7A.
Pontiac Dispatch just told all Troop 5 units to utilize 6A, 13000, with Pontiac.

Sounding like the initial information was correct. I'm sure the rest will fall in line over time.

Do NOT look at the district listings as districts don't exist anymore. The troop listings are the current correct information. TG's are being deleted from the district listings and being put in the correct troop listing as use is confirmed. Troop 4 is using the old district 8 13002 as primary so that disn't change.

Based on what we've been hearing and was reported to be the plan, look for the lower District's "A channel' to be the Primary Channel, and the higher District's "A Channel" to be the Secondary. It also appears the lower Districts ISPERN/Car-to-Car are going to be the Troops primary use.

The first sign I see is listeners are reporting a "patch" between the two "A-channels", then shortly after that, all communications take place on the lower Districts "A-Channel" only.
