• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Anyone planning on attending?

I've got some vacation time I need to burn off, a few vendors I'd like to see, and some free hotel nights. Just going to go for the expo floor. Would be willing to buy the first round for anyone that wants to meet up.

Looks like most of the big players are there, and the usual cluster of CCR manufacturers.

Nope. Our travel budget cut and the two seats at APCO2026 are taken...
I was able to fund one or the other, so I've got a full ride to APCO this year. I think it is in Anaheim next year, so I'll be able to swing that, also.

IWCE I'm going to do on my own. I need a break anyway. Free expo floor, free hotel room, all I gotta do is pay for fuel, and I'll just call it a vacation.

The XYL don't fly...and I have no professional need to go to IWCE at this moment in time and I really don't feel like a 20 hour drive. Patiently waiting for APCO because that's an extended commute for me at just over 2 hours from the house this year.

Haven't been to IWCE conference yet, but I have to pass. I've got the Summit in April, APCO (hopefully), and the Police Fleet Expo in August in FL.

Ha, had someone at work that was responsible for travel almost cancel my funding because of that. Fortunately I was able to correct them in time.

Plans could change, but if not, I'll be making my annual (other than Orlando) pilgrimage to IWCE. Arriving Tuesday night and leaving Friday AM.

Latest student count for the ETA ed forum isn't much better than last week. It looks like budget cuts are a major reason you guys can't come.
I'm wondering if the cost to travel to Vegas has any impact. This show takes place during spring break which adds to travel fees, maybe somewhere more middle of the country might be more convenient and less costly.

I'm tempted to email the ETA board and suggest we offer an ed forum at APCO as well since that seems to be your primary choice. Would that be something you guys would attend?

I’ll be heading out to IWCE as well just to wander the expo floor and check out what’s new Vegas in March sounds better than another desk day. It’s always interesting to see who shows up and what gizmos are getting pushed, so looking forward to catching up with folks there.

I'll be at APCO, but my training funds are all tapped out, so additional add on's are off the table.

I'm speaking
What are you presenting on? It’s always neat to run into folks in real life.

@mmckenna I’ll be there all week, but I’ve not signed up for any training. The difficulty I ran into this year was the training I was interested in was later in the week, however I have some vendor meetings and need to walk the show floor some too. I’ll have to catch some training next time.

My apologies, this part of the post was directed at @speedway_navigator . Apparently I need more coffee that early in the morning.
