When we listen to public safety systems, we get used to thinking of peaks in the usual sense, mountain tops. Nelson Peak is an example. I believe C Peak is not a peak at all, but the hill west of Magna with a large white C for Cypress High School on it.
That is correct. License WPLP802 shows it's lat/lon at 40-42-29.8 N, 112-08-02.8 W.

I'm hearing systems 5219 and 6F1A very well but nothing from 7031. Wonder if that transmitter is way down low inside the smelter area.
I would take the fact that two of us are hearing it from Bountiful, but it is not being heard from the SL Valley, as confirmation that it is indeed located at the smelter on SR201.

The duplicate frequencies also indicate that it is placed somewhere with the intent to only cover a very limited area, an area which is shaddowed from coverage of 6F1A on Curry. It could well be that it is not a new system, but rather has such limited range that none of us have noticed it until now.

copperminer, did you get your scanner properly programmed? We all kinda got off on a tangent and seem to have completely ignored you.
