Identifying which station the TG dispatches to is the hard part. I usually start with monitoring for a dispatch call on the EMS station TG. Then watching the local EMS TG for radios to either log in or be active with dispatch. Eventually you can figure out which EMS unit is based out of what EMS station. Its a bit of a battle but its a lot easier in the late evening over night as the TG are a lot less active. Identifying the Hospital TG 23xxx can be done the same way.

Some officers are going for radio training here in SD&G. One officer was having issues changing to a talk group, 2OPS11 I think it was with the new radio.

What's the best way to find new sites, Software based or just scan the 140-150 range on a scanner? I'm in Pembroke which is the next tower up from St. Patrick and I don't hear anything new on the 140-150 band.
What noise I would hear? I'm used to FleetNet CC noise. Does the new one sound the same?

I find SDR the best for finding them. DSDPlus or Unitrunker. Check alternate / voice frequencies of known sites and generally it'll pop up there, per the experiences we had in Zone 1.

P25 CC Noise is different from the old Smartzone noise. But it's a constant sound.

Any sample of the sound so I know what I am looking for?

Depends where they are. The NAC would indicate encrypted. I have seen a NAC B07 decoded by DSD on VR03. No TG seen but DSD seems to not process "Simplex' P25P2 signals. I will be checking to see if these repeaters are using a slot or are in P1 mode.
APX series portables can transmit using the half rate vocoder that is used for Phase 2 voice. This is so the DVRS doesn't need to transcode between the full rate and half rate to/from the DVRS. Also note the DVRS/mobile are transparent to APX portables. Users will see the portable RID when it is transmitting through the DVRS, rather than the mobile RID attached to the DVRS. Encrypted voice is passed through as well.

I don't have any way to "officially" confirm this but I had heard they were hoping to get MTO in the east on board before Road and Weather report season begins in November. I really don't see that happening in a month but who knows with how quickly this seems to be happening.
