Is everyone still saying spring for the Zone 2 flip? Anyone seen anything off the Demorestville tower?

I'm here a lot
Toronto Site 40 is back up and running with the same frequencies that were used on Site 147. I've put the Base frequencies in as placeholders for Site 147.
Also, no longer seeing Belfield Site 6.148 show up on the Mississauga neighbour list.

Whatever fails sure took a while to get a replacement for it or to have the part repaired and returned.

Ottawa has had a LMRN control channel up for awhile now, 142.095 CC. 142.83 alternate. Other 142.515. 142.3350.
I have seen one login on it, apart from that nothing..

Has anyone found the new Control Channel for Ottawa yet? I am guessing the tower is in the same place as FleetNet.
142.095. active right now

I am set up on the new frequency for scanning talk groups using Proscan. I am using my BCD 325P2 for this since my SDS100 is worthless in this case since my mini USB port is shot. Can anyone from Ottawa point me in the direction to a technician to fix the port? I do have a SMT Mini USB connector.

Curiously, the site has been moved from the Ronald Ave site, to the Mowat block (where the old 782d Fleetnet site was).

The only thing I can think is that they moved it to accommodate the upcoming takeover of the Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway.

Perhaps radio-room space, power or air con was so tight in Mowat that they could not duplicate equipment in the radio equipment room.

To achieve the cut over from FleetNet to LMRN, they hosted the new LMRN site at Ronald, did the cutover, and now that they are decommissioning the old FleetNet system, they now have room to install new LMRN gear in Mowat.

Note that just the multicoupling on VHF takes up a large amount of rack space, even is 5 Moto repeaters fit in one rack.

That's true, but it doesn't explain why Ronald went on the air as SID 40, then disappeared. Then SOW showed up for a few months. But who knows?

We demand answers!!!

I still believe that it was some type of hardware failure. The 5 month or so turnaround is typical of Moto when it's a non standard part failure. I have no idea why Bell would not have just taken the part from the Zone 2 equipment to fix site 40. We may never know.
Moving the hardware from one site to another can be done in a matter of hours if you have everything prepped.

Nice find! So it looks like at least some hospitals have VRs as well. I wondered how they would handle when the crew was inside a large hospital and away from the truck.
