It means that the channel isn't broadcast on all sites in the network--only on sites that detect a subscriber unit on the channel connected ("affiliated") with that particular site. What does that mean,,,tks
I think that is the same reason why I don't hear Verdugo Fire on the ICI Oat site all of the time.It means that the channel isn't broadcast on all sites in the network--only on sites that detect a subscriber unit on the channel connected ("affiliated") with that particular site.
There's a lot of site overlap in the metro area of the county, so it shouldn't be an issue there. The outlying areas in the fringe are a different matter.

Luna hasn't been told by BOS what he thinks yet...Sheriff Villanueva was committed to leaving the dispatch channels in the clear, I don't know what the new sheriff's take is on it.
You are exactly right. The majority of calls are sent over MDT's. In the old days you could hear LE's talk on car to car. They do not even want to do that anymore and talk about anything. They would rather talk to each other via their cell phones or text back and forth. Even they are being watched what is said on the radio and being recorded. There is no difference between us as the public being watched and recoreded. LE is too. So they want to just do their job and be hidden when talking to their buddies or friends via encrypted apps or text messaging.Since Wednesday, been seeing Avalon units on their RICS L-Tac. No more traffic on L-Tac 2. Once or twice on Wed and Thurs, the dispatcher slipped up and tx-ed on LT-2, but then I saw more traffic come over the trunk system. Thing that sucks over here is that they self-dispatch all the time, so unlike mainland stations, there is no call put out over "Dispatch"/SCC channels.
"Dun, dun, dun... another one bites the dust."
