What does that mean,,,tks
It means that the channel isn't broadcast on all sites in the network--only on sites that detect a subscriber unit on the channel connected ("affiliated") with that particular site.

There's a lot of site overlap in the metro area of the county, so it shouldn't be an issue there. The outlying areas in the fringe are a different matter.

I think that is the same reason why I don't hear Verdugo Fire on the ICI Oat site all of the time.

Signal Hill will transition to LARICS full-time and depreciate its ancient trunk system.

I think Signal Hill is on a way old Type I or Type II Motorola system. Yes, ancient as can be. Surprise the system still powers up.

Sheriff Villanueva was committed to leaving the dispatch channels in the clear, I don't know what the new sheriff's take is on it.

SCC just advised over Temple dispatch 11 that effective immediately and until Monday the following. Temple will be using Temple Metro as their dispatch channel and Temple DB as their Ltac channel. Also advised the units no busy tone. Should be noted both talkgroups are encrypted.

Anyone hearing LACoFD Blue 8 in the AV lately? I was in the area for two days and not getting the rebroadcast on the new system.

I'm going to bet that no one up in the AV is affiliated to the Blue 8 TG, therefore the system isn't broadcasting it up there. The system is set up mostly to only broadcast a TG on cells if someone is affiliated to it. There are exceptions that admins can make Tg's broadcast on all cells regardless, but that is resources being tied up on the system.

Since Wednesday, been seeing Avalon units on their RICS L-Tac. No more traffic on L-Tac 2. Once or twice on Wed and Thurs, the dispatcher slipped up and tx-ed on LT-2, but then I saw more traffic come over the trunk system. Thing that sucks over here is that they self-dispatch all the time, so unlike mainland stations, there is no call put out over "Dispatch"/SCC channels.

You are exactly right. The majority of calls are sent over MDT's. In the old days you could hear LE's talk on car to car. They do not even want to do that anymore and talk about anything. They would rather talk to each other via their cell phones or text back and forth. Even they are being watched what is said on the radio and being recorded. There is no difference between us as the public being watched and recoreded. LE is too. So they want to just do their job and be hidden when talking to their buddies or friends via encrypted apps or text messaging.

So I just heard LASD dispatch 6 for San Dimas in the clear on RICS while scanning the East Simulcast 470MHz site - unit went code 9 and the patch was open; not sure if that had anything to do with it, but regardless I'm so glad to see Luna has kept the dispatch TGs in the clear.

I haven't heard any other station. Anybody else here anything?
