I'm sure this has been discussed previously, but I'm lazy.

What is RICS using to "half duplex" the dispatch channels for LASD, or have they given up on that? Is there some sort of SP in the system to generate the busy marker?

Or, again, did they finally get with the 21st century?

From what has gathered over the last few years I am pretty sure the busy marker will go away. I am pretty sure they can not incorporate it into a TRS system or would want to. I guess its a waiting game until all of the LASO Dispatch talkgroups go live in D or DE or could be T or TE. I guess we wait and see when this is all suppose to happen. Obviously as everyone knows all of the L-TAC's are gone and have moved over to LA-RICS. What's next and when??

Well I know that MCC 7500 supports "repeat disable" (for lack of a better term) on trunked talkgroups, I've seen that operate first hand years ago during a test. I guess if they could figure out how to insert a marker over the top, they'd be golden.

Wonder if SCC will miss the keyboard. Or if they'll go Genesis.

Yeah it's more or less a throw back from the low band days but as I understand it they will be full duplex on the trunker. No busy tones, etc. Time will tell if we have some clear talkgroups (not patches of conventional channels) to monitor.

SCC would have to be on MCC 7500’s to have the feature.

Yeah, that's where I saw it operate. Though I'd imagine any console with a core connection (not necessarily CSSI) with a "repeat disable" function should be able to do it.

We'll see where they end up. Which consoles did they buy? 7500 or AXS?

It looks like Dispatch 14 Lakewood is moving to their LTAC till Sunday 1700hrs.. is LA RICS a trunking system. I've been out of the scanning world for about 15yrs. Just got me a BCD436HP.

This LA RICS is cracking my brain. Please help. Lol

LASD L-TACs on LA-RICS are the "big E" anyway, sadly. At this point, LASD dispatch is in the clear. It is a Phase-2 trunked system.

I gather many of the analog L-Tac, all the A-Tac, Detective along with ADB, TSB and SUD dispatch frequencies will be withdrawn in the coming week as use has transitioned LARICS TGs.

Vacated frequencies will be available for reassignment to various LARICS sites for additional system capacity.

And all "The Big E", I presume?

Anyone see any P2/TDMA traffic other than the TG 1006 fire patch? I only saw FDMA assignments (other than the noted 1006) when watching South the other night with UniTrunker.
