Another burn victim today that had to be airlifted. This time it was a chemical burn victim, burned from head to toe with Lye (a VERY powerful chemical used for drain cleaning and also used in the manufacturing of the club drug extacy) (I wonder which the victim was doing, clearing a drain or making drugs!?!)

Southstar was very adament about making sure the patient was decontaminated before they would even lift off the ground. They wanted to know what he was decon'd with and by whom. They refused to take off until they knew that info.

Incident occured around 8:00 PM in Aberdeen Twp. (South NJ)

June 4th around 20:30 On New Jersey Transit territory, in the Roseville Cut, a guy accidentaly got zapped by the overhead catinary wire while carrying bolt cutters and a hacksaw, on a very rainy night! He had a buddy near by, who the cops used to Identify his alert and breathing, but burnt body, after he fell from the street level walkway that he was on, to the track level, where the cops found him.

I found out from a good source, that there are some antique whistle signs left over from the Erie Lackawanna hanging underneath said bridge, near the catinary wires, so maybee he was looking to risk his life for 100 bucks at Hoboken day. I managed to record the event, right after the part where the Transit Cop arrives on scene, breathing heavy and says "He was on fire when I arrived, he is out now thanks to the rain, alert and conscious at this time!"

Crazy night, never made the papers either.

This was the night after Port Morris yard had a man with a shot gun rummaging through papers in the yard office, right before an employee discovered him and called the cops. The police arrived and found that he had fled west into Netcong, so Cops from three towns and two K-9 Cops from the Sherrifs Dept. searched most of the night, and hadnt found him as of 0400 when I finaly ran out of IV bags of green tea and went to sleep. During the catinary zaping incedent recording, 20 something hours later, that I made, you hear the Shift Sgt say "He is on his way to Quarters to do paperwork on this incedent, and that Roxbury Job" so perhaps they did catch him, I sure hope so.

I love listening to the Transit Cops on 160.83 MHz, true professionals, and they are buisy any hour of the day or night. They also have incredible radio discipline, considering the number of people on air and the amount of territory covered.

Speaking of NJ Transit PD, they make use of their Trunk system often (TGID 101-1), and use the Phone patch quite often. On any givin day you can hear multiple calls to the NJTPD Desk or Trenton PD.

Here's a good one that just happend.

Someone broke out of Northern State Prison in Newark and decided to get away running across Route 78.

He almost made it too, except for that car that hit him. He's on his way to UMDNJ Hospital.

That explains the NJSP Helicopter that was over Hillsborough just a short time ago. They were talking to the county on SPEN-1

Just happened around 11:30 am

PERTH AMBOY, N.J. (AP) — A woman and a child jumped from a bridge into the Raritan River on Friday morning and were in critical condition after being pulled from the water by rescuers, a city spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman said authorities were still gathering information about the incident, which took place shortly before 11:30 a.m.

Police stopped traffic on the bridge, and placed yellow crime scene tape on a white car that was parked in the right lane near the edge of the bridge.

The woman was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Brunswick; the child, believed to be a 1-year-old girl, was taken to Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy.

Police did not immediately release the identities of the victims

a "extremely overweight" male drove into a fast food resteraunt in South Toms River / Beachwood (I'm not sure which one) today and placed an order. He was told to pull over to the side and wait for it. When the female employee of the resteraunt gave the man his order she discovered he was....ummmm naked !! Police were called and apprehended the suspect a few blocks away.

I assume the charges (if any) are indecent exposure? Disorderly conduct maybe? Any Ideas?

NOTE: This certainly isnt a "major incident"...but it does qualify as wacky!!!

Some kind of a major fire in Wall Twp. this morning. I turned on one of my scanners around 6 and heard 52-2-66 (Glendola FD Chief) asking one of the firemen "if the second floor walls were bowed at all, like they might collapse". A little later he told all units that 52-3 (South Wall FD) FAST Team would station by the front door to assist firemen in the event of a collapse. He also said there was a tub with cold water and juice for anyone who wanted to take a break, which indicated to me that they had been there a while already. They were still putting water on it as of 8 o'clock and now (8:45 AM) he just requested a crane or "somnething with a claw on it" to come to the scene. It seems like 52-2-66 is command which would indicate it's in the Glendola area somewhere. Anyone know where and what it is (or was)?

It was a fire in a large (100x300?) commercial building off of rt 34 near the airport. It was defensive ops the entire time. Most of what didn't collapse on its own was knocked down to prevent further collapse while doing overhaul.

I'm in Middletown and Middletown, Red Bank, Highlands, and Holmdel have all gotten Mutual Aid EMS calls for rigs to head out to Mercer county to help with the evacuation of a hospital. No other details, no idea what is happening out there. I'm guessing it is a flooding related issue.

It was. Portions of Trenton were under a mandatory evacuation due to the Delaware River floods.
