I put in the additional frequencies and the system is still silent. I can't get the radio to scan the other systems. I use the keypad to scan the conventional systems in the radio and nothing happens. Also, and this might be the key to this mystery, I fully take the radio to zero squelch and don't hear a data stream. So it would seem that the frequencies have been changed. I'm going to get out my PSR-500 or try on my external PSR-600 and start doing some conventional searching to find a data channel(s). I want this thing to work on the Mountain's system by Thanksgiving as I will be able to figure out talkgroups easier when the system is busy.

You also mentioned you are not picking up "the other systems". Do you mean the other sites or is the scanner not working on other local systems?
Also, are you fairly close to the site locations? It is possible if they did work that they have changed the signal strength. Or perhaps added encryption although I can't imagine what a ski area would need to hide.
Last suggestion I would have is to put all the frequencies in a conventional system and try scanning them that way.

Really need for someone to run DSDPlus on a control channel to determine the system unknowns.

Good luck.

I see all bars show up for each site (3 of them) and this is presumably the control channel at each site. I did not receive two out of the three sites, just the Lincoln Mtn. site.

This really sounds like a setting has been changed on the scanner, versus something changing about the system. Is it still programmed as a DMR trunked system?

Good luck.

1. I could not get the 325P to scan the other the other numerous systems I have programmed into it. There are about 25-30 of them. I finally reprogrammed the entire radio, the entire memory. I can now bring up the other systems in the entire radio and have the radio scan them. I'm not sure what happened, but thought I should start from from square one. It took a long time to reload the entire radio, but it worked. I was able to have the radio scan a conventional system I have programmed into the first bank. It is receiving quite nicely.
2. I'm no more than 5-8 miles from two of the sites, Lincoln Chair and Mammoth Mtn. Summit.
3. I ran a limit search on everything from 855 to 860 on my GRE PSR-600 in a conventional search. I picked up trunking data channels on the two listed in the database. These two frequencies ran a data stream without interruption. I picked up what sounds like a data stream on all the other channels except the highest frequencies listed for the Summit Site and Lincoln Lift Site. These other frequencies transmitted data about as long as a single radio conversation would last. The Chair 12 site is around the other side of the mountain from me and not high enough for me to receive it.
4. I've had my radio scanning now for about 1 hour with no traffic received. Typically not much is heard at this time of night (2245) so nothing definitive yet. I will run the scanner and logger all night long and tomorrow as well.
5. One of my first thoughts was encryption was added on the first day of this ski season. I sure hope not. I've always enjoyed listening to this ski area as I like to know what the employees are up against in their daily duties. Can a system like this ski area's be encrypted?
6. I have no idea what a "DSDPlus' is or means.

Thanks for trying to help.

P.S. I still have the Southern California Edison system to listen to on this radio in case this Mammoth Mtn. system doesn't work out.

The database shows TRBO. That is what it has been since I programmed it. Is this correct?

Thanks to everyone for replying to me in an effort to help. I appreciate it more than you realize!

Trbo is correct for the system as it appears in the RR database.

There is an option in the custom search for Control Channel Only. Turn that on and repeat the search. When it gets to one of the known Control Channels, hit Hold. After a couple seconds, it should show the System ID and Site ID. You may see the scanner trying to change frequencies. If the system allows it, it may tune to traffic.

There is another possible way with Proscan to log the data from the control channel. With that, maybe we can see if there is a LCN to program in.
With the system scanning a single site, you would simply go to the CC-Output tab and choose Log to Box and Log to File. Then click start. Data should stream down the box. After a minute or so, click stop. Post the file.

I understood everything and followed the procedure as you outlined, with one exception. What do you mean by "Post the file?" Does that mean post it on a thread post here? There is a ton of data and I don't know what to do with it.

I'm beginning to lean toward a logical channel situation here. I put the channels for each site into my 325P2 from the start of monitoring this system. I was not surprised that the radio did not track the Chair 12 site. As I mentioned before topography would prevent me from hearing it. My frequency search had no hits on any of this site's frequencies. However, it had hits on both the Mammoth Summit and Lincoln Lift sites. My radio never tracked the Mammoth Summit site. I assumed, prior to doing the frequency search, that I was not receiving any of the Summit site frequencies, but that was not true. Why was it not tracking? I assume that the frequency, lowest to highest as listed in the database, is not the correct order or LCN. How is this voluminous file of recording I just did for the Lincoln Lift site going to help me figure out the LCN?

For unknown reasons the LCN must have been changed for the Lincoln Lift site the day of the season opener. Once I figure out this site I would like to do the same for the Mammoth Summit site as well.

Ok, if this works I'm posting 58 seconds of the log.

It has been a while since I dug into that data but I believe it is not seeing Tier III data. You should be seeing data like this:
07/31/24 14:26:34,DMR,02B00E5F,DT3,NET-0001 SIT-0003
That is the control channel
I just can't remember if it shows that info if programmed as a system or in a search

Try a custom search range with the Control Channel Only turned on:
Menu
Search for...
Edit Custom
(pick one, Custom 1 works if you don't use them)
Edit Search Limit
854.0000 (enter)
860.0000 (enter)
Set Control Ch Only (On)

hit Menu several times to back out to Edit Custom
go up one to Custom Search (enter)
The 10 Custom Searches have 10 Quick Keys (1-0) while you are in the Searching. If you hit scan, you have to go back into the menu. Hit Hold when the search finds a signal, give it a few seconds to show a System ID, Site ID, and DCC

I think I followed your instructions. However when I get to the point when I hit hold on a signal, where is it shown the System ID, Site ID and DCC? Where is this supposed to show? I ask because nothing shows, not on the scanners display screen and not on the C-CH Output tab. I presume this tab is where it should show. Also I don't know what "DCC" means.

DCC is digital color code
It would display right on the screen, it alternates with this and another window. 325P2 shows the same as this 996P2

This it to try to ID what you are monitoring. A monitorable signal will give some indication as to what is being heard. Even if encrypted, it should give the color code and system ID.
Digital Color Code (DCC or CC) is the DMR equal of a PL or DPL or NAC (P25) or RAN (NXDN). It allows multiple users in range of one another
to not hear each other.
Net is the Network ID, S is the Site. and what is not seen in the alternating screen says DT3 or DMR Tier3.
Looking to confirm system type, System ID, and Site number. You are not seeing what should be

Also, I missed setting an important option in the menu for the search. When setting it up, be sure you are in the digital tone code search:
Menu
Srch/Close Call Options
Tone/Code Search
NAC/CC/RAN/Area
Enter

Since this is just a limit search and I'm not picking up audio I would guess the system is encrypted.

I just checked with another user in the area and he says he is still able to monitor the system as before, so this seems to be a problem with your scanner. Have you tried deleting the system and reprogramming it from scratch?

Yes, I've reprogrammed the entire scanner now at least once. I've been checking all of the items in this one system many times. I've reprogrammed the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area at least 6 times, besides this all systems reprogram. Thanks for checking for me. I will look harder now.

EDIT: As I've said before, this radio has not been good to me. I find it overly complex with little that is intuitive.

It doesn't look like you have it programmed in as a DMR Trunked system (although nobody would know because you haven't posted screenshots of the actual programming in the scanner). It should be programmed in as DMR/MotoTRBO -> MotoTRBO Trunk.

And for every frequency you add, you need to also add the LCN. If you click on the "Mammoth Mtn Summit" site for instance, you will see any LCN associated with each frequency as well as a color code. You need to program the LCN and color code in for each frequency when you program the frequency in.

I rarely use the database as I am running DSDPlus or SDRTrunk or UniTrunker. I only recall the LCN being in small numbers next to the freqs but I just realized that they are under the sites. So here are the LCNs for the 3 sites in the database:
