The Cecil Patch talkgroups were denied in the past per Unitrunker on the Queen Anne's Site. So the future Cecil talkgroups might also be denied on the QA Site.

Okay I have question tht may have been already answered

I can pick up all 4 Counties ( Caroline,Qaco,Talbot & Kent Co Md ) up from Dover by locking onto the qaco site / tower

With that being said will I be able to hear Cecil co fire and ems on tht same site as well once they go live on the 700mhz first Sys

Thanks

If monitoring Cecil County is your specific interest; Then you'll want to use the Cecil site exclusively (provided your within range) to ensure you hear most of the traffic, or the Cecilton site when it comes online. If QA is the main site your monitoring; You're not gonna hear everything happening regarding Cecil specific traffic, If anything at all. (As maus92 & ThePhotoGuy has stated) ;) Kent would likely offer more Cecil traffic than QA as well... :geek:

Yeah local Fire fighter told me most of the mobiles for trucks/vehicles not available yet and won't be installed for a while so mostly
portables to kick off the new Fire program.Fire companies also got some new expensive pagers to go along with radios.

Is it all of area 3, or just what is coming from certain repeaters of Area 3? Like Solley and a Coyle others?

Definitely Anne Arundel, not sure if it also includes PG or not.

Have been hearing a repeat of the Solley site, which duplicates with several others in AA County, (Crownsville, etc) but nothing else yet.

Interesting that there is a very long delay, maybe 2-3 seconds. At tiles a transmission is over on the origin before the repeat takes place on FiRST.

Is there a reason why this district is staying with old system repeated to First or just a delay in upgrade schedule?

What will the old system be used for once they do migrate? I presume they will shut it down to save maintenance.

Any idea when Garrett County Public Safety will migrate over to FiRST? Haven't heard much about them switching over.

I know this is an old post but I wanted to give some info. They are in the process. MSP and NRP have already switched. Some Fire/EMS calls are being transmitted over FiRST but I still hear some still being transmitted on analog. Some are transmitted on both analog and FiRST.

Listening earlier today, they was a call in Fort Washington for a "bear" and then I heard an officer talking about a water rescue in PG. Both of these were on the patched talkgroups. So maybe the talkgroup is also linked to PG conventional frequencies/sites. I am not positive though.

I think what is taking longer for Area 3 and even Area 5 is that some sites in their areas have been active on FiRST for a long time (Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard) but Montgomery and PG don't have the sites up yet so users are still using conventional methods.

I would say Area 5 is about 95% used by primarily FiRST users and then the rest is used via conventional sites. FiRST talkgroup is patched to the Dundalk Frequency.

Area 1, Area 2, Area 6 all are fully on FiRST and there are no patches to conventional frequencies. Not sure if Area 8 or Area 7 are patched back to conventional frequencies but they should also in the future end their patches once everyone is fully migrated over.

Last night, there was a water rescue at the Bay Bridge. Queen Anne dispatched their assignment to respond on "Marine 2." They were utilizing "Maryland Marine 2." That was the first time I have seen them utilize MD Marine 2. Usually they use QA Tac 3 or another one of their fire tac's during water rescues.

In Talbot we recently had a meeting between the various water rescue agencies to discuss radio usage etc. QA was noted as planning to use MARINE TAC2 but at that point I don't think it had been approved by MD DNR. There is a similar proposal for Talbot, but we would be on MARINE TAC 5. If/when it happens, it's likely fire/ems will respond on TB TAC5 and then be patched in to the appropriate marine channel.

Just Heard a tone and voice mention Dispatch to Station 2 on 12360.
Assume like you posted this is the new County Fire Dispatch?

Nothing is really confirmed yet. I was just throwing ideas out..
Until they actually start using the TG's, [Unless someone has a list they'd like to share/submit..]
I've been trying to post TG's to the wiki...As they came up.
https://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/FiRST_Unknown_Talkgroups
IDK if 12360 is just for tones or a voice combo type dispatch ch. with 12201 as a primary response..
12207 seems pretty important, likely EMS Ops..
As far as the LE TG's, I can't discern if all groups are operating under a unified dispatch on 12241, with the rest as TAC ch's, or if each will be separate (like they are on the EDACS)
12238 & 12270 seem to be go to TG's for LE & EMS maybe an interop ch.
Also don't know if they are going to stick with the old OPS6 to 10 arrangement or if they will start with a 1 or use the TG ID 12201 = CH1, 12202 =CH 2, ect...??
I'm just waiting for it to go live, Some will be obvious on day 1.

Thanks for the update. Good to see these setups established to make communications better between agencies.

Better coordination and communications are needed during incidents on and around the Bay Bridge. I only heard QA on Marine Tac 2 during the incident. Anne Arundel used their talkgroup "Juliet". I did hear the NRP dispatcher on Area 3 advising that QA would be using Marine Tac 2 but not sure if they did switchover or not. The incident was handled very quickly so it will be interesting to see if in the future if during longer term incidents if Queen Anne, Anne Arundel, NRP, MDTA, & MSP all decide to use the same channel during these incidents.
