Not sure why you feel a custom band plan is necessary - maybe because your reception is poor and don't trust your receiver to populate it correctly?

AFAIK, the Cecil Simulcast site has not been expanded. They did switch zones from 1 to 3, but that was essentially a change to free up resources in Zone 1 - no new tower sites have been added to the Cecil Simulcast cell. They will be adding a new standalone site in Cecilton, but that site is not on the air as of yet. I suppose it's possible that antennas have been adjusted, but I haven't heard an official mention.

Attached is the band plan for FIRST, pulled from the Cecil Simulcast cell:

Correct I don't trust the receiver to rely on the control channel. I know I tried to receive from Wilmington about 6 months ago and didnt receive anything; however that was with a bcd436/536 and that was a few updates ago. I dont remeber getting a decent signal until 896 area back then. Can partially recieve now with an sds100, T think adding the band plan will improve things. Thanks for the band plan!

Took a little drive from D74-Chorman Field up to the Cecilton area this morning - still no evidence of the Cecilton ASR on the air as of yet - sorta hoping it would be up. But, the SDS200 was receiving / decoding via Kent and Cecil Simulcast sites at the Royal Farms with no issues. No sure what area the site will fill in.

Notice Cecil Sheriffs office still operating on the old system.
They making the switch at a later date? Maybe still simulcast for now?
Dispatch,Mobile units all showing 867,868 some say Radio Testing next to it.
The Transit bus folks still on there as well.

12818 on new system sounded like Paramedic EMS Unit.

BTW - in Cecil, what is the difference in usage between an "Ops" channel and an "Tac" channel?

Definitely "OPS 8" ! hearing Chester County P25 patched to it..

Interesting,assume these are Cecil Fire/EMS console radio patches they initiate.
Assume they can do same with other jurisdictions as well.
WAG 12210 is Cecil Fire Ops 7?

Ops = Fire/EMS
Tac = Law Enforcement (Generally on old EDACS this terminology applied)

Likely.

12202 is EMS Ops;
12207 is Fire Ops 4;
12208 is (probably) Fire Ops 5;
12209 is Fire Ops 6;
12210 is (probably) Fire Ops 7
12211 is Fire Ops 8.

The Conowingo ASR was lively today - it has been mostly quiet in the past. I pretty much confirmed its main purpose it to fill in coverage along the Susquehanna River valley. Outside the valley, the simulcast cells from Harford and Cecil have good coverage south and north of the river, while Conowingo's coverage outside the river valley is poor.

Unitrunker was showing the Cecilton ASR as "Active" and "Valid" today, which is a change from earlier this week. I cannot verify if it is actually on the air since I did not attempt to monitor it directly.

Fire Tac is used for on scene Fire chatter while leaving Fire Ops channel free for coordinating incoming units so been told by Fire guys.
Police create their own patch Tac channels via Cecil DES console
