7578 - State Park - Users use 3xx identifiers so it should be a PG State Park - Possibly Merkle NRMA, Rosaryville State Park, Cedarville State Forest (PG/Charles Border)
There was a "wildland" fire. Baltimore County was using MD Tac 5 to communicate with Air National Guard Helicopters doing water drops. What is all the chopper activity on TAC 5 now?
Flightradar shows 3 over Loch Raven. And County air over the city.
Noticed that the LE Ranger pickups at Assateague State Park ranger station had VHF whips and no FIRST antennas. FIRST and Worcester County are receivable in Chincoteague.
NRP radios on FIRST are all encrypted. The dispatch talkgroups recently became encrypted also. That might have been National Park Service Protection Ranger (LEOs). State Parks do not have law enforcement rangers. NRP provides law enforcement at state parks.
I know that...NRP radios on FIRST are all encrypted. The dispatch talkgroups recently became encrypted also.
No, they had state park symbology on the doors. The reason why I thought they may have been LE Rangers is because the also had emegency lights on the dash, and Federal siren control boxes mounted next to the radio control heads. That might have been National Park Service Protection Ranger (LEOs). State Parks do not have law enforcement rangers. NRP provides law enforcement at state parks.
