Seeing the Bay Bridge Ops TG (7151) popping up a lot on the Montgomery County Simulcast site or sites. Is this to do with them being patched in somewhere or perhaps someone taking work home with them 🤣

7151 is MDTA VRU South (Courtesy Patrol/Vehicle Recovery Units). It was listed for years in DB as BB Ops but it is actually VRU South. Confirmed earlier this summer during testing/switch over.

Not sure of the exact footprint of VRU South but believe it covers Bay Bridge, ICC, & Nice Bridge Ops.

VRU North & Central is very busy.

Must be a lot of patches in MDTA. I am getting both the police on ICC and Bay Bridge on the Baltimore Simulcast site.

ICC also had PD on the Nice Bridge on it's talkgroup.

I *believe* their dispatch center for all facilities resides at Ft. McHenry.

Anyone catch the Unit identifier calling on MD-Call about 1050ish today requesting an Event Tac channel? RID was 1116xxx. First time seeing that RID range on FiRST and was curious who it was. I believe it might be DC or possibly a VA jurisdiction.

That might have been a US Park and or Federal fire fighting since their was a fire on the application trail 15 acres and they used that to coordinate the responding units.

Hmm, now I'm curious if the DC ASR is online. I'll be able to check tomorrow, but if anyone can check the peer sites registering on the Montgomery or PG sites....

Also the time you said that DC Radio called and asked for a Event Tac channel was around the same time that the call came in about that fire on the Application Trail so it could have been a fed park service asking for it.

Does anyone know what Talk Group 8437 is? That number is close to federal TG ID's and UMCP Dept as well so I am thinking it is some kind of police talk group. I saw it appear on unitrunker a couple of minutes ago .

May be a long shot by asking but has anyone ever heard of any forestry traffic on any of the forestry TG’s. I know they have radios (Mobile and portables) I saw that in person yesterday but I never hear anything. I was thinking I would today as it’s day 2 on this mountain fire but nothing. Perhaps cell phones are used instead.
