"Port" units doing traffic stops in Orchard Beach (near the BGE plant)????

Doesn't seem too far-fetched. The unit was probably checking out the Hawkins Point Terminal and saw a violation while they were roving around there. Actually I'll probably find that one when I go through my recordings later...

RE your other comment, I think you're right about 7304. My educated guess is that they simply have it set up as a simulcast with VHF so that they can phase in 700mHz radios as they see fit. I've seen no RIDs pop up on that TG, so I think that's exactly what it is at the moment- a simple simulcast of VHF.

Orchard Beach is no where near the port or even the Key Bridge (just like Rt 10 and Ordnance Rd). On the other hand, they are a "state" authority so I suppose they can ticket anywhere....

It's been looking like activity starts just before 6am each day and then goes away at night. Someone must be turning on a radio to listen to that TG and then turning it off 12 hours later.

I agree.. I'm waiting to hear something more than radios occasionally keying up on it before I say I'm sure and submit it though. I've only heard one vox tx in the last 2 days on 7106... but that WAS an L-# unit.

Also, interesting note: heard a radio check on the McHenry TG from a unit at the ICC. This is just speculation from me at this point, but perhaps like the PORT units and FSK units being combined on one channel like they have been for years, FMT and ICC are going to get mushed into one dispatcher.

One of the recordings was an L unit calling "Bay Bridge" but they sometimes referred to it as "station" (I think). It sounds like they were also testing 7134 -- maybe BB will go active next week.

7106 confirmed as Lane Bay Bridge. Probably going to switch online sometime in the very near future: two L# units were conducting field range testing in the bridge area.

Audiodave, any idea who's doing the talking on 3625 and 3099? None of that's getting simulcast west of the Bay, so my 800 can't snag it. (by the way, sounds like you're getting pretty freaking amazing reception considering you're in wilmington)

I am not sure who they are but it's not LE. Site 105 is quite a shot distance wise.
I have the PSR800 recording again today. Ran Unitrunker last night on Cecil and except for JFK hwy all was quiet.

I do get good reception from my QTH near I95/Rt202. 178' elevation and a 6dB 700 yagi on the chimney...Need a bigger antenna to get better BER/decoding.

Was receiving 7101 (McHenry) most of the day on the AA Site (102) but now it's only on the Baltimore site (101)... Guess there is no one in the AA area with a radio on 7101

This site stuff is going to be fun

1700 hours: ... and now they're back...

Wish I were there...

Watching this whole thing unfold from a business trip in Southern VA... wish I were home in AACo to play along. Can't wait to get home, and download the latest Beta firmware, and load up this rapidly developing system. And don't even get me started on the GRE-thing!

Thanks for all the hard work everyone is doing to get TG IDs.

Regards,

SOD-1 on 7101 asked another unit to "swiitch down" --- they came up on 7109 -- TAC?

Was that around 0800 this morning? Heard him ask MTR6 to go to SOD TAC, but I didn't get a TGID lift off of their destination channel- my wildcard got swamped by PORT right after that.

Also confirmed FMT switched all ops to 700mHz as of 0645, I got that too.

Bay Bridge users testing communication yesterday in the middle of the night -- they sounded very pleased with the coverage from their Hqts building to up and down Kent Island and even out to the 50/301 split.

Yup, and it seems that they are setting up simulcasts of other-agency channels- heard them talk about Queen Anne's PD being on-the-air on their radios right now, though that's probably only coming out over the QA site.

Heard that also -- but they said they couldn't figure out how to get to it on their radio even though one guy said they were "live... listening to it on our radios"...
