This thread needs about ten more double facepalms. Any time you drive around in any area with a mobile scanner there are literally thousands(or more)areas will there are "problems". Attempting to blame your poor reception and lack of understanding how to operate your scanner on the system you are attempting to receive is absurd to say the least.

I hope you realize you might as well have told all that to your dog and saved the effort of typing it. It's been round and round with this guy ever since the new MECA system came online. He doesn't listen to reason.

My Radio Shack Pro 96 and Pro2096 do pick up Safe-t and MECA with no problems and both radios do work with Rebanding and they are Digital. If they were not Digital I would not be hearing Safe-t and MECA.Thank You for the Question.

OK, guys..Lets move on :)

I don't want another one of these MECA threads to be locked. This is a great thread to have for the MECA system, or at least should be..

Unidentified MECA Talkgoups

Okay guys and gals...

I was going through some older PRO96COM files I had collected monitoring the system.

Can anyone ID talkgroup 11552 on the Public Safety system 1?
Can anyone ID talkgroup 20604 on the Public Works system 2?

Thanks in advance...

Now might be a good time to check out MECA and see how you get it while they are working on it

For the first time now MECA SYS 2 has changed CC to 851.5375 while they work on the system so if you did not get it you might check and see if you can pick up SYS 2 now

Does anyone know the status of the MECA scanner stream? I have a lot of friends and family that work as cops and firemen and like to keep taps on them. Is there anyone willing to host a MECA thread? Thanks, guys!

You do not need to program an offset for MECA. Since it is a P25 (all sigital 9600 baud system). All the necessary information is handled in the control channel.

Correct, Scanners automatically handle that for you with 700/800 MHz P-25 systems. With an VHF Hi, or UHF, you may need to set specific bandplans etc in order to properly trunk them.

FYI,currently the 6.25 spacing is in use mainly on 700 MHz systems, hence the sorta funny frequencies - 774.36225 etc, unlike in current 800 MHz where it is 12.5 - 866.3625.

Hope this helps.

Thursday 2-11-2010 2:52PM *MECA techs are working on MECA system 1. There talkgroup is 10006*.They are making adjustments and you can find out a lot of things just by listening to what problems they are finding.Control put out to all users on the system on MET-NW1 that MECA was working on the system.I did hear that after the techs are done working on System 1 during the converstation I heard between both of them that they were going to be working on System 2 for DPW.

The SysTac's are also the same ones they used to initially test the system.

S1-T1 through S1-T15 (10012 through 10026) and S2-T1 through S2-T15 (20012 through 20026) are in the database, so what are the 10001 through 10011 talkgroups?

I just reviewed all of your submission to the site and not one of them indicate such. Not sure how you tried, but it certainly wasn't via submission.

Just to be clear, I will change the 10012-10026 to 10001-10011, correct?

Dont change the 10012-10026 they are in use a lot as well. The DB just needs 10001-10011 added they are used a lot since the system first went online of coures sys2 would be 20001-20011 added MECA Techs use these lower# as well as PD more so the techs they used it heavy in set up and testing now online full time grouped in with the system wide tacs

OK, I made the changes. In the future, instead of saying you have tried several times to get these into the DB and that we aren't putting them in, please submit the info using the official submit data method (you have used before).

I try to keep tabs on the IN threads, but as a global moderator I read a whole bunch of threads from the entire board and sometimes I miss some local posts. I will never, ever, intentionally ignore information. If there is a reason it doesn't go into the DB I will contact you and let you know the reason.

Thanks
