I've been working on firmware since completing the user manual. I asked for another RR member to help with checking the device out in addition to goldmyne99 and myself. He found a few bugs and helped to get them fixed. Before I work on the web site and make the MicroP25RX available, I want to make sure that I don't cause unrealistic expectations. The MicroP25RX does not currently have configuration software that runs on a PC. You can configure things with the Wio display device as described in the user manual. You can also manually edit a text-based backup file and then do a restore. In order to use these functions, you must have a uSD card and a way to read/write to the uSD card on your PC. I have plans to eventually have PC-based configuration software. Although it isn't described in the user manual, USB networking is supported on Linux and there is Java-based monitoring software that allows audio playback and graphic display of I/Q plots etc. I have plans to eventually get this working on Windows and Mac, but it may take some time. The RF specs for the MicroP25RX are similar to the P25RX-II, but the sensitivity is better on the P25RX-II. For comparison, the P25RX-II is 0.35uV, and the MicroP25RX is 0.8uV. Here are some more detailed images. Note that the Wio Terminal is not included and must be purchased elsewhere. The enclosure is optional and will likely have two options for materials.

Thanks for the updated info. I saw the sensitivity in the user manual the other day. While some may scoff at the reduced spec I suspect with the superb filtering it will still have more usable sensitivity in the 7/800 bands than the SDS-series scanners.

Just ordered! Verify these initial orders will come with the ear buds and antenna as stated in the manual. Didn't say it in the included items on the website. Thank You!

Will the .uf2 file on your website support the MicroP25RX
The Wio Terminal UF2 file on the website used with the P25RX and P25RX-II will not currently support the MicroP25RX.

The MicroP25RX has its own UF2 file. That may change in the future.

Where can we download the .uf2 that will work?

Yes, while I have them in stock. I have quite a few of the ear-buds. I probably have 20 antennas. First come, first serve.

Thank you. I will get the MicroP25RX and Wio Firmware files up on the website shortly. You can also build your own Wio firmware from the sources here: GitHub - tvelliott/MicroP25RX_Wio: Firmware source for the Wio-terminal portion of the MicroP25RX product

Regarding the needed micro SD card size.
I tested a 1G, 4G, 8G, and a 128G micro SD...because that is what I had on hand.
The files being stored on the micro SD card are small.

I added the fcc search / zip code files to the MicroP25RX firmware page. Download and unzip these to the uSD card for the Zip Code Search function to work. Edit the freq_user.csv file if you want to add entries that aren't in the FCC database file.

I'm a real numbskull when it comes to USB cable.

USB Type C: On Amazon, they pretty much all mention charging cables. Is that okay as long as one end is Type C and the other end fits in my laptop?

USB Micro-B: Docs say it has to be a "data" cable. How would I know if it's a data cable or not?
- I'm guessing if it says it says "for external hard drives, smartphones, etc" then it'd be a data cable?

Yes, if it says hard drives, then it should be a data cable. (not power only). The Type-C connector needs to be a data cable as well in order to update the Wio Terminal firmware.
