This thing sounds great on a Anker Bluetooth speaker. It is about the same as DSD+Fastlane, except the audio is much better. No simulcast and loud and clear. Tomorrow I will put in the car and check it out. I bought it because I needed a portable radio, and I think it will fit the bill nicely. Thank you for the hard work Todd.

Now for the dumbest question of the day. Will this do analog simple VHF? My county is simplex analog, but you would fall asleep waiting for a call, so I use it for Greenvile County. But would be nice if something was to happen in Pickens I could hear it.

The improvements for the learning seem to be working better. It does successfully learn the sites now and i can switch between control channels, however my import issue is still there. I am wondering if there is an issue with the my files. Is there anything I need to edit on the csv files from he original P25RX or can they just be placed on the SD card and imported?

I look forward to the results. Either way, I will setup here to make the ACRR measurements again. Your results so far seem to indicate the filters that I had on the rev1 design would have taken care of the issues you are seeing. Once the decision was made to remove them, I decided to match wide band to allow VHF systems with the lower-cost design. If there is enough interest, I could add another 700-800-only design with both filters / front-end switch. This would reduce sensitivity further. ~3-4 dB.

I'll still give your filter a shot with the default settings just to see just how well it will perform and give you a ideal on how a 700mhz design would work in my area.

If you want to email me your file, I will take a look. If you have multiple systems in your P25RX talk group file, then the file needs to be sorted, such that the talk groups for a system all occur sequentially in the file in a single block (they don't have to be sorted numerically). Otherwise, it won't import correctly. The reason for this is because each time the WACN/SYS_ID changes, the talk groups are reset for that system and appended to from there during the import.

This little thing is great. Just need to work on my TG file to lock out SCHP and some distant counties. Works better than expected, my new favorite toy.

Thank you. You might check out the TG Zone feature. For example, you could make your TG zones correlate to counties. Then you could disable/enable by county with the TG Zone mode. In order to do this, you need to make a backup file (microp25rx_backup.ini) with the config menu->SD CARD->BACKUP option. Edit the TG Zones in the backup file. Then do a RESTORE.

Once you get the hang of manipulating the .ini it goes pretty smoothly. I’m slowly working on mine, so far I have 2 Zones (one for my county and one for the big city). Need to do one for the big county next.

I can’t guarantee anything, but I’d bet as long as your Band 14 isn’t smokin (-50 or better) you’ll probably be fine. I’m quite sure my issue was all the 1 megawatt TV stations.
Looks to be ~-55, so a bit borderline. I think this device is better suited for our 800 system alleged to be completed in the next few months. I seem to remember choices about filtering was a trade-off in the early design stages of this radio - I'll look back to see what that was all about.

Adding that I would have no problem with two radios: one optimized for 700 and the other for 800 MHz. I use discrete / seperate radios for different systems anyway - too busy around here.

The audio is where DSD needs improvement - glad this does it for you.

Don’t take my -50 as gospel, it’s just a guess since LTE wasn’t my issue after all was said and done.

I will figure it out. The problem here is that SCHP patches to Greenville due to lack of help. I have not loaded my own personal file yet, but will do tonight.

To be honest, it looks like you took a RTL stick out of the case, put it on a motherboard and modded the software. That is fine by me, works great.:p

Don't hesitate to ask questions if you have trouble figuring it out. You can post here or email.
