Not the most interesting I know but a T-6 Texan II from Raleigh just landed at Teterboro
I like those little old Tex 2's.. Seems your Navy Texan is currently headed to Niagara Falls to join another Navy Texan
orbiting the Falls.. Good night for scenic VFR flying :) Looks like your Texan 019 did Hudson River tour before heading to the Falls.

Guard Dog tanker is TEFLON 13 KC-46 out of McConnell, NOBLE 11/12 F-16's, Teflon 13 tail given as 18-6042 -- 260.9, 231.625 for AR

And this reminds me why I saw a twin engine jet in the 20-30k range in a southeasterly direction (out of the ordinary) while out walking my dog earlier and not being able to see anything one ADSB playback.

Interesting as TEFLON-13 was filed to Pease on Acars but checking course near Illinois it suddenly turned Southeast.
New orders! tail # is 18-46042 :)

The Jolly Rogers VFA-103 returned today at Norfolk.. Arrgh!
Earlier today saw Greyhawk C-2 tracks offshore Norfolk out of nowhere westbound to Norfolk.

I think VX-9 has one of the nicest liveries but VFA-103 isn't too shabby

The Sudan situation is going to be interesting over the next few days but it's difficult or impossible to monitor. A decade ago I found that 11,300kHz was always alive to that region but I've been out of HF monitoring for years. Khartoum was one of the strongest signals.

The U.S. has over 100 diplomats and embassy marines in the capital, Khartoum, which is landlocked and deep in the country. The airport is closed and being shelled, with commercial carriers already having lost a couple of planes there. Next good airport is 8,000 feet of asphalt at Port Sudan, on the coast, but that's 12 or 14 hours by car from the capital by car even under safe conditions.

Djibouti is the staging area. The U.S. has a base there Commander, Navy Region Europe, Africa, Central > Installations > Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti and that's where the C-17s are going for potential evacuation. The South Koreans have sent a C-130J from home to pull out their 50 nationals if they can get to a safe landing spot. The Japanese are sending a C-130, a C-2 Greyhound and a KC-767A tanker. The Japanese have other assets (370 in uniform) in Djibouti because they're using it as a base to fight pirates. Ditto for the French. The Germans tried three times to get their aircraft into Khartoum but didn't make it. Don't know if they have gone to Djibouti. A U.S. embassy convoy was attacked in Khartoum with one American killed.

Djibouti busy again today as RCH-402 C-5M #86-0014 from LERT to HDAM.
Most of these heavies don't stay long as prob running out of room there so seem to be dump cargo/pax and get back out.
Course other countries want to use the US base there as well.. One busy airport for sure.

1015- Teflon 22 (KC-135 # 58-0103) out of MacDill heading up to join the CAP. Hearing female pilot (Noble 22) in CAP. First time I've heard female pilot doing CAP duty.

1035- Venus 32 (C-40 # 02-0042) off ADW. Showing as SAM 586 on ADS-B. Advises Potomac will continue on planned route & is cleared to Harcum.

I was staying Williamsburg on Thursday for work and saw on the TV news with CVW 7 coming home on Friday.

Was on I-64 headed to Virginia Beach and the E-2Ds from VAW-121 Bluetails were in formation. One came right over when landing at Chambers Field, but with driving couldn't get a picture.

As a side note to staging, if I remember correctly, after Somalia, the idea (which was actually used) is to not hang out anywhere, and have a very small presence...

i.e. for fuel, the air force would land 3 tankers and draw fuel from the first one, when it was empty enough, it would take off and another pull up, if appropriate, an additional tanker was flown in. Rather than set up a light infrastructure arrangement.

I don't know if the lessons of Somalia are remembered though. As the lessons of desert one in Iran. :(

Thanks
Joel
