I picked the wrong spot :( ADSB was also kind of sketchy, spotting the plane a ways off when in fact it was already coming in over airport turf, but too low and far away for me to get any meaningful images.

I think if you had climbed to the top of the fence you might have gotten a better view, just saying :ROFLMAO:

Just got in and seems a CAP is up with NOBLE-11 on Huntress 260.900 not sure who it is yet.
No tanker heard yet but McGuire KC-135 #63-8003 was up and NOBLE-11 asked Huntress to let them know when NOBLE-21 departs.
Could be the 104th guys as both fighters had about 10k fuel and feeding. A bit much for F-16's..
Definitely a 135 (not receiving on ADS-B) and 2x F16 from what I see overhead

Perhaps someone in NYC can help the VP learn the days of the week. Contrary to what her official schedule says, she is headed to NYC TUESDAY (NOT MONDAY).

At 12:45 PM ET, the Vice President will depart Joint Base Andrews en route to LaGuardia Airport.
At 1:45 PM ET, the Vice President will arrive at LaGuardia Airport.
At 8:15 PM ET, the Vice President will depart LaGuardia Airport en route to Joint Base Andrews.
At 9:10 PM ET, the Vice President will arrive at Joint Base Andrews.

Watch @PenguinSix get soaked as Marine 1 departs the South Lawn for ADW in the rain

Looks like crappy weather to be flying around in a helicopter.

Appears they lifted off around 1846 UTC when the visibility was 1 1/2SM at KDCA with lightning observed distant east. Nice. I wonder what their weather minimums are ? interesting they operate under some sort of pre briefed instructions from ATC where no actual clearance is issued over the radio, even when it's IFR. Just give us a 3 minute warning and frequency change approved.

Rgr Terry just heard them on 127.700 say will be ready to go in 15 min.. Philly airport will be rolling out
the fire trucks for this one.. That E-6 is gonna come close to it passing by also on 127.700 looking for T+G at Dover.

Terry educate me is it true that most airliners apply brakes after takeoff so they are not rotating in wheel wells?
So 4418 did that but has signal brakes are still locked up?

13:37 local Brickyard 4418 cleared to Philly.

13:48 PHL Tower 135.100 reports to 4418 no smoke seen off tires :)
13:51 4418 says can taxi and cleared to taxi but hold short runway 9.. Thats good news.
Mark

Sorry - just catching up on things Tuesday morning.

Yes - correct the system automatically brakes the wheels from rotating so they do not spin upon entering the aircraft.

More than likely was a faulty indication from the brake system that the brakes were still locked....but based on the successful landing - that was obviously not the issue.
