They were lingering for quite a long time (hours) over South Edison - didn't hear anything on the radio but looked like they stopped off at Old Bridge Airport to refuel.

Trying to catch the Gujarati Henry Hill?

A couple Lakotas from our nearby Iowa Army NG facility have been undergoing vehicle tracking exercises over our metro area for several days now. I’ve heard their A/G comms on 142.600 each time. Maybe a larger training effort by units nationwide?

Here are some Aggressor A-4's that are at Kinston NC Airport. No idea on callsigns or freqs.

I really like the A-4, their history is fantastic, and looking at them fully loaded head on, it doesn't look like enough wing exists to get them in the air.

Where was that photo from?... couldn't find it on google maps.

Thanks
Joel

That's from Flightradar24.com. I zoomed in on the airport & changed the setting to satellite & zoomed in on the south west side of the airport & took a screenshot of the ramp. 😃
I know what you mean. It's amazing that that thing can get off the ground with a full weapons load.
I saw a Mirage F-1 go into the Kinston Airport today.

It is (was) also nuclear capable, it makes me giggle inside a little whenever people on the news mention a bomber is nuclear capable, all I can think to myself is that the A-4 was also.

Thanks

Tomorrow at ANC there is a Navy flyover scheduled for 0915 and the USAF at 1310.

Maybe the Navy flyover is for Marine Brig General George Brier.
Born in Waterville, Maine on June 10, 1926, to George Willard and Miriam Smith Brier, he graduated from the University of South Carolina on June 5, 1946 and was commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served on active duty for the next 33 years. Initially serving as an infantry officer, he was designated a naval aviator in 1951.

His depth and breadth of service spanned tactical, operational, and strategic leadership levels, including service in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and culminating in his command of the Fourth Marine Aircraft Wing/Marine Air Reserve Training Command. He was awarded the Legion of Merit with combat “V”, the Distinguished Flying Cross, eight Air Medals, and the Navy Commendation Medal with combat “V” for his combat service.

Brigadier General Richard T. Drury
He entered pilot training in Texas in June 1950 and then served as pilot, operations officer and safety officer at various bases in France, Korea and Texas. While in Korea he completed 20 combat missions with a total of 87 combat hours in B-26s from April to July 1952. After observer-bombardier training at James Connally Air Force Base, Texas, General Drury was assigned to the 342nd Bombardment Squadron at Biggs Air Force Base, Texas, as a B-47 pilot and later as an aircraft commander.

Interestingly tomorrow is also the funeral for Brig. Gen. James Daniel Brantingham,
the Air Force deputy chief of chaplains, who had been in his role for just over a year, was removed from his position on the last day of January for a “loss of confidence” in his abilities.
Died in April.

I saw nothing resembling active or current there. One thing to be careful of is that my GPS took me initially down TCOM's private road. They're building a pretty high-end looking community down there, and there's better and legal access via that. I looked up the approach patterns for Runway 10, and the ILS IP appears to be near an island in the Chowan river 5 or 6 miles north of Arrowhead Beach. Please share if you find any good spots!

Will do. At some point I need to go to Dare Range. All that happens around here is FCLP for carrier-based aircraft.

1652 - N46L A5983C Beech 200 returning to KPHF. Appears to be SIGINT aircraft owned by shell company or contractor. Went up to Richmond, did some circles, then came back to Hampton for more.

1842 Local KC-46A 19-46071 HiFi11 circling over NE philly, still. I wonder if there is a mechanical issue, and they are trying to burn off fuel.
HiFi 11,12 and PUDGY-58 coming back from Florida area also holding...
Rains just came thru and long runway 6/24 closed for construction and WRI notam says this for the open 7k short runway 18/36

RWY 18/36 WET 4/10 INCH STANDING WATER. OBSERVED AT 2306142139.
I guess they are squeeging the runway as we speak but they may divert soon if not completed.
Not half inch of water but 4/10 "of water :) Very precise.. LOL

Langley Sequence from 6/13:
On Tuesday, I went down to Langley AFB, and Yorktown NWS before work. My main mobile air radio is a TRX-1 hooked to a Stridsberg multicouopler and a 9" antenna on my trunk. Am pleased to say that even in south Richmond I'm receiving at least SOME traffic as far away as W72 and Navy Dare. Not exactly 5x5, but I hope to improve. Here's what I caught on my handheld on a bike ride up to the Hampton BMX track at Gosnold's Hope: (local times)

1136: 257.625 - COACH 01 & 02 announding ready for clearance. mention of something 311 and possibly JASSI departure?
1147: 275.800 - on to ground control
1154: 253.500 - Tower - going to Button 03 for takeoff/departure
1156: 379.100 - ORF DEP? - button 3 go to 5
1157: 370.925 - ORF 'Arrival' (not sure I understand that nomenclature--Oceana supposedly has their own on 323.05)
1200: 238.100 - now on Button 7, Giantkiller, but checking in for W72, not W386
1203: 361.300 - now checking into W72 for AIR 1 A & B
1206: 357.400 - now in 1B I think. Snippets go on for a while
1233: 370.925 - headed to Chambers for some action on Runway 10
1240: 379.150 - on with Chambers (Norfolk NAS)
1244: 370.925 - back on 'Arrival' "Push 3"
1248: 379.100 - hearing something about Runway 8, so it pretty has to be them.

Didn't catch any more past that. Had left the area of the base at 1218 to get over to Yorktown for the USS Gettysburg CG64. Never confirmed an Air/Air or Squadron base freq.

Given all the local a/c transiting from bases to missions & back, I'm not sure I understand what Approach, Departure and Arrival really mean for them. Any enlightenment appreciated. Chambers appears to use 363.125 for departure, but all I heard on it was an E2.

Really loving the East/West helo common freqs.
