1525- Royal 12, 13, 14 showing on ADS-B in low level (3,400ft) formation heading to Dover. Departed from Ft Liberty NC. Ft Bragg sounded so much better :cautious:
Saw Royal-11,12 depart Dover Monday on mode s enroute to Homestead AFB then half hour later over to MacDill
then back up to Pope AFB area and were in that area all week.Maybe picked up some Florida based Special Ops jumpers
for Bragg/Liberty areas?

1720 local BLUE-11 with ZBW Cape sector 128.750 will split from TABOR-62 flight of 3.
BLUE-11 going into Pease... After split have Tabors go to 290.300 or this freq for VHF.
TABOR 62 flight will be going direct ACK FL300 then HTO.. HTO : HAMPTON navaid | OpenNav
Then EMJAY EMJAY waypoint | OpenNav Tabors push ZBW 254.375

Yes the recent USMC pax runner.. Should be a second RUNNER delivered by end of this year.
US Navy sure runs there own C-40 737 types all over these days.. They could qualify as their own busy Airline :)
The last USMC C-9 retired in 2017 so Marines been waiting a while to get their own pax planes again

Andrews F-16s did a funeral flyover this morning. May have been for James Mahan III, a fighter pilot that did a full career.

But also interred today was Chauncey Steele Jr. smiley_salute.gif
Mr. Steele served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Gunner/Armorer during World War II with The 44th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force in the European Theater. He flew 35 combat missions over enemy territory. On April 18, 1944, during a bombing run over Berlin, Germany; the bomb bay doors on the B-24 Bomber malfunctioned and jammed closed. Fifty-two 100 pound incendiary bombs fell from their racks, armed themselves and piled up on the jammed doors. Without a parachute and an oxygen mask, at -30 degrees temperature and at an altitude of 20,000 feet Sgt. Steele entered the bomb bay and reinstalled the safety wires; both front and rear on many of the bombs. The remainder of the bombs were live and were piled up on the jammed doors. With the bomber out of formation and falling further and further behind; Sgt. Steele worked feverishly to jettison one by one most of the bombs out through the escape hatch. Only then could he force the bomb bay doors open and the rest of the bombs could fall from the plane. He also rescued the Bombardier, who had attempted to help and had fallen from the catwalk into the bomb bay. His actions that day earned him the Silver Star.

On his last scheduled mission, July 7, 1944, his plane was shot down between Bernberg and Leipzig, Germany. He spent the remainder of the war as a German POW at Luft Stalag IV and survived the 600-mile "Death March" during the winter of 1944-45.

In addition to The Sliver Star, Mr. Steele was awarded The Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters, The Purple Heart and The POW Medal. In 2009, at the French Embassy in Washington D.C., he was awarded The French Legion of Honor.

A Coast Guard HC-130 2015 from Elizabeth City and a MH-65 C6510 from Atlantic City look like they’re in search patterns off Point Pleasant, NJ
just one of the sources for what happened.....

NOBLE-11 is rtb Shaw down thru the Bay ZDC 360.700>285.400. Seems they had a TOI earlier 0949 local.
NOBLE-11 cleared down to FL 3k for TOI-1 for intercept but target kept tracking West out of the zone.
At 1005 local Noble-11 went back up into CAP.
NOBLE-21,22 in the CAP now ZDC 307.250...BOUNCER to Bigfoot on 260.900 req rtb inbound KILG.
I assume BOUNCER-01 went after that TOI.
Tankers ADVICE-11 and 12 KC-46's chatting A/A 235.850 on NH ANG squad freq. Both working out of Dover.
Not a cloud in the sky here but rain showing Long Island and New England areas.

Was out but at 11:35 local MAPLE-11 self id as flight of 4 with ZDC UHF at FL310 standard
and pushed ZNY (Lancaster Pa) 323.300. Maybe returning from that William Tell fighter competition down at Savannah?

11:47 There was second flight sounded like VOLT-11 "FL-280 non-standard 6 miles in trail"

1458 NOBLE-31 popped up just over my house headed for upper Ches Bay.. So fast couldn't get my
camera out. There is unid N28250 in the area now turning Southeast.NOBLE-31 turned back North towards CAP.
That was fun!
N28250 pops up on 121.500 says enroute Ocean City NJ.Told to push Philly apch on 119.750
N28250 says now heading 180 on 119.750.. He sounded a bit rattled. Now pressing onto his destination.
He never violated the CAP but was heading that way.
