1225- Couple of NAS JAX P-8s working up the coast. Now over Richmond & Williamsburg.

1127- Looks like CAP tanker on way down. Now over NYC. Also hearing acft on ZDC Leesburg (285.45) and a couple of mic clicks on 260.9. Looks like CAP being set up.
Heard weak chatter on 246.9, attributed to the P-8s since it came in strongest over the James, one station louder and one quieter.

The info in there is as good as you'll find on that topic.

Larry Van Horn & Jeff Haverlah both know what they are talking about and have contributed to our hobby for years.
I think it was Larry van horn that I met in the 80's..... He mentioned that when we went into (either panama or grenada) that there was a long EAM that was sent, what made it interesting was that it was being sent over evertything from HF to SATCOM that he was monitoring, the time delays between everything was interesting .

Thanks
Joel

Questions to the masters!!

About an hour ago I was receiving an EAM on 11175 USB with no E6 in the air or at least not showing on ADSB. There was an E4 (73-1677) in the air. The question is does a E4 transmit EAM's? I think I know the answer but need to confirm it!!

Thanks to All!!
At any time there will generally be an E6 operating from East, West or Central. Many of the messages heard over HF which people call EAMs clearly aren't EAMs (luckily the buffoons in charge haven't extended their interference in other countries affairs to a nuclear level).
Again generally, there will be a message not long before the E6 takes off. One might conclude that these are perhaps Force Directional Messages. Looking at patterns one might also notice similar 30 character messages prior to significant tanker movements.
FOXTROT and SKYKING would probably be more 'interesting' (or worrying!).
Luckily the only very long messages these days can be seen to be exercise related.

Two C130s already there, scheduled for departure for flyover anytime from now to 1500L. Wouldn't be surprised if they added a jet into the mix for the USNA flight
That F/18 callsign sure sounded like Alouette-03 which would be Canada CF/18 Hornet.
He didn't say Navy but self id as single F/18.. See what turns up later..

See one of your KC-130J's up as DRAGO-51 now.

Nighthawk 2 says 5 minutes out from KILG showing a bit.

One of the CAP F-16's NOBLE-12 has Pressure problem and running check list and descending to 8k
pilot is on 100% oxygen A/A 260.900. Plan is to rtb Shaw soon as possible.. Over to ZDC 307.250 with his plan.
NOBLE-12 cleared direct Shaw at FL180.At that altitude his cabin press is holding at FL 10k interior so feels fine.
NOBLE-12 pushes Pax River area on 281.400 then some coms heard on ZDC Norfolk 327.800 but NOBLE-12 will stay
on 260.900 for relays. He asks Huntress for relay to base Ops Sec for any latest wx reports.

Norwegian F35s Coronet flight caught on recordings this morning.

1150z 282.200 NOW 331A (x4) wkg ZBW looking for the next controller on UHF.
1151z 307.000 NOW 331A chk in with ZBW, flight of four, last is nine miles in trail catching up. We're in contact with REACH 051 40 miles off our nose.
1153z 254.600 REACH 051 and NOW 331A flight on boom freq. MARSA, coordinate meeting, discussing the issue with one of the fighters.
Continues on with the remaining fighters and will be joining with REACH 052 as well. Heard the first refueling before leaving my reception area.
1201z 307.000 NOW 331A wkg ZBW, declaring emergency requests a descent down to 17,000 It was hard to understand the pilot's accent, but it almost sounded like the second fighter escorting the emergency plane would drop him off in Bangor then return back to join the tanker.
1204z 303.000 REACH 051 and 052 A-A. Discussing distance 051 and fighters were from 052 as well as the divert fighter with the oxygen issues.
Thanks for the log, Ed !!

This is their clearance to Norway: NOW331A - 9 November 2023

I remember when I lived in Nashville some CF-188s as Canada calls them were inbound and the controller was one of the more laid back ones and he asked what branch of service he was from and the Hornet responded Air Force the controlled was baffled and the Hornet driver had to explain they were from Canada.

Three "whitetops" just departed New Castle at 3:45pm EST - heading home after presidential duty. Apologies for the "prop freeze" - I barely got out the door to see them. ;) The two Ospreys did not hang around, taking back off five minutes after arriving a bit after 1pm.
