No Comms, but ADS-B Exchange - track aircraft live and earlier ADS-B Exchange - track aircraft live is interesting, KC-135R/T flying at low level for a tanker, 7400' mostly.
A couple of days ago I observed this, ADS-B Exchange - track aircraft live , anyone have any ideas what they might have been doing circling/orbiting maybe searching over the Chesapeake Bay off the end of Langley's runway?
Also, earlier, after about 18:45 local, picked up some comms on 282.800 Military SAR, was down in the dirt but thought I heard "down in the water", anyone know of anything going on or of an incident?

Miscode. OTIS is the callsign for VMGR-252 at MCAS Cherry Point.

AE04B0 converts to octal 53402260. Played with the numbers a bit, octal of 53402250 converts to a hex of AE04A8 which is assigned to KC-130J BuNo 165810 which photos show being with VMGR-252

The flight profile certainly makes more sense for a KC-130J and it's been flying out of Cherry Point. AE04B0 is also showing up out of Phoenix with a COPPER callsign which is used by AZ Air National Guard KC-135's

Going back through the history, it looks like they messed it up on June 12

Have any of our Mid-Atlantic MilAir folks attended the open house at Martin State Airport? Are the aircraft that will be in the Baltimore flyover based at Martin State, and can you see them take off from areas open to the public? It's been surprisingly difficult getting schedules or detailed info on the flyover or what is happening at Martin State. All official websites are very vague... :cautious:
I copied on tape today the Martin State A-10's RAVEN-1 flight of 4 off the deck at 2k 10:27 am then holding with ZDC over Swann for
flyover TOT of 11:30 local today said we will be overflying at 1000 feet. Mentioned they would also be talking to the Airboss on way in
then finish with Martin Tower.. Friday practice show?

I went to this show about 5-7 years ago and was ok show.. You park out front just up the street in big Lockheed Martin office building lot
then short shuttle bus up to the airport flight line.. The year I went they had a CFC F/18 demo but it broke on the ground
so never got off but you can wander the ramp area checking on all the planes and performers except the A-10's which
are parked/hangered across the runway on the other side.It is a small but nice show.

Was planning to go, but with my health oissues being out in this heat for an extended period is not ogg. Plus. I'm on the other side of the Patapsco so since no bridge, getting to that side of town during the week is a real headache.

Fleet week Flyover

This is still the only schedule I could find, and tentative at that from May. It was posted on airshowstuff.com. Someone speculated most participants will be flying out of the their home bases rather than Martin State anyway. I may just stay home and enjoy the nice day before we get clobbered by the heat next week :(

11:30 - Epsilon large formation pass
12:00 - Maryland State Helo Demo
12:30 - B-25 Demo / Join T-34 Formation
12:45 - T-34 Large Formation Pass
13:15 - C-5 Flyovers (Sat. only)
13:30 - Baltimore PD Helo Demo
14:00 - MH-53 or E-2 Flyovers
14:30 - USN P-8 Flyovers
15:00 - USCG SAR Demo
15:30 - USMC F-35B Demo

1030- Potomac advises that TFR for Baltimore Harbor area is in effect. Looks like CH-53 Hurricane 011 is orbiting east of Baltimore. Probably doing a flyover at some point. At 1050 Hurricane 011 stopped orbits and is heading for Harbor. They are using 118.1 as Air Boss freq. Hurricane 011 is female pilot.

1120- Several passes over Inner Harbor and Hurricane 011 is heading back home (NAS Chambers/Norfolk) after a couple of low passes over Martin State.

1125- Potomac working CG 6605 (MH-65D CGAS Atlantic City). Looks like he's going to fly over the harbor. Military Star 1 AKA CG 6605 checks in w/Air Boss.

Wish I could hear Air Boss but too many obstructions between my QTH and the Harbor

Nothing yet. I'll be listening. Not too sure what to listen for, but FWIW I'm pretty sure HSC-26 has some form of encryption on their base freq nowadays.
I would scan UHF every time they’re inbound. They will have to make a call.

I would be surprised if they did have encryption unless it was for an exercise. That’s a DoD-wide safety of flight item. If they need secure, they usually switch to satcom.
