Pool reporters on AF1 last night say it flew Las Vegas to Dover in 3:45, which was so fast that the airframe was shaking. This has prompted some concern that the president required more urgent medical attention than a case of Covid would merit. I don't have time to do the math and check the winds to see if they were right.

NOBLES with BF on 260.900 not liking the storm fronts down Carolina way when they rtb Shaw.
Asking if they can maybe overfly the squall fronts. Looking at wx map ZDC will probably just steer them inland and
arrive home behind the fronts later.

CASTLE-30 calling their KILG CP 343.000 reports bird strike alpha 3 and will rtb right awy.
Now with tower 126.000 says will do a couple training loops before landing so guess not serious.

Does anyone know how the CAP routing is decided? If they are doing a CAP is there a certain way the flight path/location is determined?
It seems that they have planned orbits for the locations that the Presidents goes to, his main home and his shore house in Delaware. I have head them on different CAP missions by his main house call it "BLUE HEN AR".

But as any orbit they move it if they weather is not good at the predetermined orbit.

I'm more interested in other areas, not typically used. And if planned orbits, what is the planning based on? We know it is planned but is it based on a center point of the TFR or what?

Here's my latest info on the 7th FTS T-38 calls. As usual, any corrections/additions/deletions much appreciated.

They also use LEXUS for what appears to be maybe maintenance positioning flights ? LEXUS 1 I've also seen them use it to Randolph AFB. On your list you have LEXUS as T-38C 49Th FtS,14Th FtW Columbus AFB MS. I'm wondering if maybe LEXUS is a standard maintenance positioning callsign used by multiple bases ?

I would have to say that the anchor point is not the center of the TFR. The anchor point for yesterdays orbit and it appears to be the same today is nav aid "ATR" WATERLOO. Thanks to BANKER11 for leaving on their abs-b equipment yesterday. BANKR21 is doing the same today.

I base this on anchor spot shown in the pic below and the FAA Anchor requirements. Link listed below.

In the Air Force there is a unit that was called Tanker Airlift Control Center (TACC), it is now part of the 618th Air Operations Center. It plans, schedules and directs air refueling as well airlift and aeromedical evacuees mission's. I have to assume they are responsible for setting up the track.

I just read the book, "Tanker Pilot, Lessons from the Cockpit". There are parts in this book where the author talks about setting up air refueling orbits for the first gulf war which lead me to this information.
