Pentagon says no to my recent theory of possible shipped based drones.. :(
My guess now is that current Fed govt powers will kick this can down the road anyway since they are soon to be out of power.
See nothing, say nothing and let the next admin handle it :)

2055 local McGuire KC-46's A/A TULIP's 56,57,58 on 378.550 making grouping intercept plans.

NSC Jake Sullivan departs Washington DC for Israel tomorrow. Watch for a SAM flight departing.
Looks like SAM-670 #99-0004 just behind SAM-648 01-0040 maybe related inbound Europe tonight.
Prob crew rest/swap and fuel stop. Both planes not exactly long distance types.

Correction on my above post TULIPS A/A 378.850 not 550.

05:39 local, heard a brief, clear unid transmission on 142.3 AM. Locked scanner on it and haven't heard anything else. Caught my interest because I don't often catch any activity on the VHF MIL portions of the band below and above the 2-Meter ham band. Looking, I see it used by F-15s and F-16s at Homestead Air Reserve Base in Florida and PTD at McEntire Joint National Guard Base in South Carolina, and some years old mentions of it being used by MD ANG A-10s, but nothing recent and close to me.

0800- Anvis 21 (Dash-6 # 76-22565) working Potomac (124.55). departed from Davison AAF. Belongs to C5ISR Research and Technology Integration (RTI) Directorate at Davison. Also working DOV approach (132.425) as he heads northeast. Looks like he's heading towards McGuire/Lakehurst area.

0805-Scan 05 (CRJ-7 N805X NGTF) working Giantkiller (118.125) for entry into W386.

0820- Range Hawk 01 (unid) working Giantkiller (118.125) advising they are in W386 at FL310 & requesting block FL510-600. Nothing showing on ADS-B.

Closer to you in Tidewater...there are several FM freqs below the 2m band in use by the helos operating around Washington, including the USMC helos supporting the president and top execs. You'd hear them shuttling between their base at Marine Quantico and Washington, and occasionally coming up near me to FEMA's Mt. Weather. Much of this, I suspect, may be out of range for you because their natural habitat is low altitude, but it's worth a try. Search here for "HMX" for freqs.

Another slim possibility would be Langley F-22s. 27th FS F-22s have 141.65 & 143.75 listed as some of their freqs. Not too far from your reported freq.

Range Hawk has been busy - I believe it is a UAV (MQ4 RQ4 variety)
