Yea, fun days when FBI, DEA, Secret Service & Customs guys were not encrypted.

Even AF1 wasn't totally encrypted. We can now still hear its ATC comms, but in the deep days of the past, there were only a few encrypted channels available on board. I never heard the prime passenger, but I did often hear less-senior officers and aides in the clear. Perhaps they were the ones who had never had the Comsec 101 class.

I remember a local listener using id "Oilcan" used to post stuff he got off the WBFM system aboard AF1 & others. I live about 30 miles from ADW and used to listen to the Secret Service guys chatting while AF1 & POTUS were arriving and leaving ADW. Even heard a couple of the POTUS & family coverwords over the air. Ahhh, the good old days.

Neat pic and story on new flagship VMFA-251 F-35C which recently went to Arizona for training.
Callsign was T-BOLT-21 so not to be confused with Langley F-22 T-BOLTs.

I see NZ Kiwi C-130J NZ7015 second of 5 new delivery flight westbound today.
