Couple of DC ANG F-16's going up A/A 340.250.. Don't use that freq much lately.
BRAVE flights are the only ones who I've monitored that use 340.250 A-A.

139.700 (AM) - BRAVE-01 flt was working with BLACKJACK and HUNTRESS this afternoon.
I believe they use the BRAVE callsign when they're doing intercepts and intercept practice.

Note: I've twice heard 139.700 (AM) referred to as BLUE-61 in radio checks initiated by HUNTRESS.

Pretty sure these guys brought some LN Strike Eagles home in the early hours of this morning. The six jets all were decorated with nose art inspired by Greek mythology which was applied during their time in CENTCOM.

*** O/T ***

Yep have seem them. Probably a missing spin up before deployment have led to their early return. From what I was able to notice from aircrews, spin ups are the most intense multi-week exercises before deploying to a specific environment/location.

Combatant commanders want to have "broken" jets and crews before they head into combat and therefore they should be able to handle it for 6 (normal) to 9 (overstretched, rarely 12) months at least. The duration of the deployment depends on acft. type and size, package, daily ATO's, the situation in and around the AOR and so on. For example A-10's and F-16's have a shorter AOR rotation (3-4 months). F-16's with Block 40 cfg. are generally considered as bombers, therefore commanders can opt for 6+ months. F-15E's, F/A-18's, B-1's and B-52's are listed as bombers for combat deployments, means 6+ months. Commanders are also able to change plans Immediately, based on a variety of factors such as changing mission sets, evolving tasks and et cetera. On the peak days of OIR/OFS, A-10 squadrons did not rotate for 6 months. But that was more like full scale A-G combat. Now we have a mix between A-A and A-G. Even a squadron gets split up into 2 detachments, where half of the fightersquadron handles the Air to Air tasks, while the other half does the Air to Ground stuff.

*** O/T continues ***

And I found this one unique and new middle east deployment video, from the 510th (E)FS, aka. The Buzzards, from Aviano AB.

That one has been there for awhile. If you go back in the thread a few months you will find it mentioned. Initially there was just one - then two - then the one you are mentioning - then a third one off the coast appeared. I communicated with the FAA in Atlantic City about it last year via email. Obviously they knew nothing about it - which means I should mind my own business. I presume they are using to testing just like the tower that shows in your area every once in awhile. Its not active now but will take a snap when active.
and here is your now active KEWR site
