I have this program and have used it on a SDS200. I am still learning and would like to open it and look but I have tried and I am not successful. How can I open this in BCDX36HP? Please advise.
What program? Sentinel? Set it for the X36 series.

I tried to quote everything all nice and proper and accidentally closed my browser....

1) Yes MSWIN has sites. However the picture the OP posted did not have any sites on his programming.

2) Obviously MSWIN didn't disappear, I picked up Grace and Greenville the other evening from here. This is not like the old BCT8 where you just put in a vhf frequency and poof. This is very complex and requires a little patience, something I do not have alot of myself so I get it but try to relax. The issue is how the radio is setup/running and not the radio itself or the system. Promise.

3) We need to establish a process to see which of the 142 things is the issue. You have to start with the basics. If you don't have the site(s) programmed and running correctly, nothing else matters.

I have created a .hpe of the system with only one site. In that site are the CC frequencies for sites around you. Turn location based scanning off. Let it scan. The scanner will stop on at least one (hopefully more) frequency and give you a bunch of site data. Give me the data for every frequency it stops on. If it does not stop on a frequency, you are out of range or something else is askew. Let me know what happens.

Yes Sentinel, and I have it targeted for bcdx36. I have downloaded the file .zip saved it to my desktop. After I open Sentinel, how do I command to open the file in the program. I tried import from , but the program only presents me with my own favorites list? Or open new, presents me with my own profiles. I don't know how to access a file outside of the program?

ok, now I can hear a little of Greenwood PD which was my goal. I’m totally mind blown what I’m doing wrong with the programming. I have not heard the sheriffs department or others yet.

This is good. It means that one of those frequencies is properly giving you a site data. Which frequency is it?

Problem is they were two quick transmissions and I have not heard anything else since then. I wasn’t able to catch them quick enough. I would assume our police department has been talking, I don’t get why I may be missing the transmissions.

It'l be at the bottom of the screen when there are no talkgroups active. If the talkgroup is active, it'l just show the current voice frequency. I need the control channel frequency that is active at rest.

Let me rephrase. I don't need the frequency when someones talking. I just need to see what frequencies you are getting data on. Aka when no one is talking. You may be missing transmissions because I gave you multiple sites all in one programming because we need to figure out which sites you can receive. Basically this is step 2, we need to narrow down everything.

Then we will go from there.

Ok you may be in a "dead zone". Walk around with the scanner, preforably outdoors and away from sources of possible interference. See if you can get a signal on one or more of those frequencies. I'm going to create a conventional favorites list of this same test but in conventional mode while you're doing that.

Thanks.

I just went to my work and picked up a mag mount antenna and put on my roof and it’s plugged into my scanner on the front porch with me. Should be able to pickup a lot better than the default antenna.

Yes.

Remember, this will not be your final programming. This is simply to see which sites you can receive well enough to decode the system. I have created a conventional "system" with more sites added. Make sure the "OTHER" service is activated. Now when a frequency picks up something, it'l flash the blue light. When it stops on one, the "department" is the site in plain text with it's site number.

1) Write down which site number/name and frequency that the blue light flashes on.
2) Turn the wheel so that it keeps scanning
3) If it keeps stopping on the one you previously wrote down, press L/O so it will ignore it and keep searching
4) Repeat until all site frequencies are "found"
5) Post results here

does this tell you anything? I have a guy just text me this who has access to the MSWIN system cause he programs their radios around here. He says all these frequencies are being used in Greenwood. Not sure if this helps. These are pictures right out of his programming laptop he said. I couldn’t upload the files individually cause it says they are to largeC5727413-E684-4128-94A1-17D17FDD51B7.jpeg

Not really. The frequencies are the bandplan, recieve frequencies, transmit frequencies, for all channels on that site. At your level and at your current status we don't even know if you can receive Greenville yet. Then, you only need the three/four control channels for a site. And only then, the repeater output frequencies. Basically a state issued radio needs all that, your scanner needs very very little and the more you program; the more complicated it gets.

You don't want to go towards the more complicated end. We want to go the basic end and then go from there. The more you program, the more complicated it gets and the less you will hear. I am attempting to find out which site(s) you can clearly monitor from you location first. Then we will go from there. Trust me, theres a whole lot more to learn than you will ever find out. But if we cannot get a simple P25 decode on one frequency, it is all useless. Follow?

So far:
I heard two quick transmissions on 769.4062 Carrollton

blue light has come on when it stops on these frequencies. I didn’t catch the first part of the last one.

769.9687 Morgan City - blue light came on but static is all I heard
773.8187 North Carrollton - blue light came on but static is all I heard
xxx.4687 Morgan City - Blue light came on

not sure if this tells you anything

769.4062 - carrollton - heard traffffic for a few seconds 2 times

769.9687 Morgan City - blue light but static
773.8187 North Carrollton - blue light but static
769.9062 Carrollton - blue light static
773.3187 North Carrollton - blue light
