Check the database to see if you have allot of simulcast antennas where you want to listen. If there are, SDS100/200 would be the best. If not, 325P2/996P2 or 436/535 will do. Depends if you want a handheld or a desktop scanner.

we got the "wife's radio" (sds100) at amazon for points.
that shows mid march delivery which i think is out of stock by another name.
on our 700 simulcast system i had tried 396T, 396XT, 325P2 and would get 1/4 second of voice and then 1/4 second of silence.
the 100 has been 100%. and the wife set it up herself. she is an old I.T. person.

Definitely need one capable of analog and digital, conventional and digital. Between Mon and Preston Counties, you'll use both. Most of Preston uses their legacy system (at least in terms of fire). Law there runs on secure all the time so you'll never pick them up, and EMS runs on the SIRN. I'm pretty sure most of Mon has moved to the SIRN but I don't listen to them much. I've got the BCD536HP, comes with home and mobile setup, works great to pick up everything in the surrounding areas.

All of Monongalia County is on the SIRN digital network.

County fire and EMS are also patched on analog VHF conventional primarily for paging.

County Fire Dispatch analog 154.875 = SIRN TGID 305

EMS Dispatch analog 155.235 = SIRN TGID 301
