Slightly off topic but possibly not: Zone 9 flipped to encrypted conventional P25 today, and is showing a TG of 5909. Haven't caught that TG on the trunked system yet but could just not be active yet. Maybe will be the same, maybe not, but worth keeping an eye on.

Listened to the feed on broadcastify, sounds like the modulation from the dispatcher is analog and the officer radio is digital

Reoccurring issue with interference on normal dispatch channels. EMS South is using Citywide Fire.
Englewood dispatcher telling Fire South units to remain on 800.
Yes, until they can confirm the interference issue is resolved. Probably temporary as in the past.

Just got in, but as you probably know, all communications are back on the normal P25 UHF Conventional. While on either 800 Mhz trunking channel, scanning any other channel (Fireground, Administrative etc) is not possible.

Z9 analog is QUIET. It's starting

Zone 9 analog is playing listen to the sounds of silence now. The Broadcastify feed sounds like its digital on both ends. It actually sounds good. Loud and crisp.
Wireline tone

Nothing to add here except...about a 30 minute delay to the stream.

What's the delay? I thought it would be no delay.

30-35 minutes I was able to determine so far. Preventing "on the spot" tweet reporting on domestics, missing kids, mental health disturbances, search warrant executions...to name a few.

Via the Zone 9 Encrypted stream last night:

"Squad, hold me down transporting a female to xxxx"...."10-4, you're console time is 2118 Hrs." (Actual time 2154 Hrs.)

Wow. Well I stopped monitoring CPD a while back anyway. But listening 30 -35 minutes after it's happening doesn't make sense to me.

CFD encryption is on the radar too for the same reasons, in addition to the board up companies actions at fire scenes, EMS response details etc. But...if you're live tweeting "non-emergent" CPD events, and you're attitude is f-them, if it's over the air, I can do whatever I want, well...that argument is about to be nullified. An example of this happened just this morning, where a "tweeter" posted a Search warrant execution with address. While the CPD procedure is to make notifications "once everyone is secure in the structure", they are required to notify the Zone in the event a call comes in of home invasion in progress/people with guns etc...officer safety thing. So why would this be a tweet, I have no idea, but reckless actions like this pushed the pendulum towards encryption. Add the protestors throughout the city and suburbs, utilizing services that didn't need a scanner to monitor police activities, not only Chicago, but suburban areas too, well...we have done it to ourselves.

Zone 9 is not coming over the OEMC Trunking System, so we can probably start a new thread, titled CPD Encryption...it's happening. They've been testing P25 Conventional both encrypted and non-encrypted for some time now, but the focus was on the Trunking System. I didn't know what they were doing, but heard it for the past couple years. Expect to see an aggressive schedule for CPD encryption.
